Das wollte ich auch ausprobieren! Ich glaube Bucheckern haben weniger öl gespeichert als Baumnüsse. Aber da gibt's Tabellen. Ich glaube zu wissen, dass man für Lampenöl die Bucheckern nicht schälen muss beim Pressen. Wenn Du Bock hast...ein feedback würde mich interessieren. LG Felix

I really like your way of getting there oil out of nuts. It is really useful because the oil can be used for all kinds of things. Thanks Felix for showing us that great way of getting the oil out. A person could just use plain or elbow grease that is The strength of his arm and his hand pushing it down to make the oil come out but boy you’d work yourself to death. Your away is an easy way and I’m glad you showed it to me. Thanks Felix🦾😋👍

I like a good press and recently pressed apple juice with a press using a bottle jack.This press seems fun but slow. Maybe a different type of press would get you the oil faster. If you take 2 Boards and a rope, make a small exit for the oil on one of the boards, load the nuts onto the board, put the other board on top and the rope around the boards, now you can twist the rope with a stick until all the oil comes out. Have a good weekend ^_^

HELLO Felix! Wonderful video! I also live in Alsace, it would be a real pleasure and even an honor to meet you! And for many years I made walnut oil in an old mill from the 18th century. And the secret to the quality and quantity of walnut oil produced lies in its grinding, light heating and pressing. Light heating also affects the taste of the oil, enhancing it without causing it to lose its properties. Perhaps you could already warm the walnut kernels before pressing them?

Hi Felix, for me the truly amazing part of your construction is to use the half split hazel as press plates. If you don't have a drill to make a borehole for a through axle , one could find many other ways to apply enough force for that purpose. Great! 👍🍻

Okay .an other idea ( kind a garlic handpress. But bigger😁) .. Make a hole in a block of wood with the flat drill..make a small outlet with your Swiss knife at the bottom of the hole.or a small gutter. Make a dowel fit the hole . Make a leverage for the dowel ..connected to the ground block

Love the video. Seems like a few extra steps to squeeze a walnut hard. Maybe having a flat piece of wood with a channel to lead the drips into the jar would be helpful?

Fabulous ! Also, considering walnut oil being a very healthy nutritional oil containing plenty omega 3 fatty acids - which we are pretty much all deficient in - if it were a real nature-life situation, you’d want to make sure to eat the oil - un heated! - and not waste it by burning it -
