I did the clarinet and some guitar/percussion on Thirty Three Recurring, Fog is a legitimately great artist and it's cool seeing him get some real positive recognition.

It’s so cool that Brad had the open mind to go and re-listen to every Falling in Reverse album and gave them all a 10/10. Well done Ronnie Radke. Truly heartwarming.

You should really do more videos like this, highlighting stuff the community has sent in. Even if it's not a 10/10 masterpiece, if they do something right and do it well, it should be put in a compilation vid like this explaining what works, what doesn't, and why you liked it. I think a more scripted video on this matter would be extremely healthy for the community and really help aspiring artists get the motivation to make what they want to make.

I’ve been grinding so hard, I started making music at 13 and now I have a degree in audio engineering, I think I’m finally on the verge of finishing music that I’ll be confident enough in to start submitting my stuff, I keep reminding myself I have time cuz I’m only 20 but it still feels like I’m too old sometimes

The streams have been genuinely amazing recently and this community is amazing :33
Hey Brad! As someone who plays guitar and uses bandlab and other mixing apps to make songs and album concepts, I find absolutely amazing that you are reviewing small artists' work whereas other music reviewers will stick with the big names that are already (again like u said) established in the music industry. It gives us a big confidence boost to say the least, and I (even though I haven't sent in anything) would like to thank you for listening to smaller artists and giving us a chance. Keep doing what you're doing Brad 💞

Appreciative of the work you do for and with artists Brad. You give good criticism, you listen well and give credit where it is due. Brad community has better music, in part because of your higher bar of entry, but also your clear viewpoint in music. Also, Lillian is a masterpiece, you can admit it already.

Esther's probably one of my favorites on there. Be prepared more for, like, demented pirate jazz than just Post-rock or even Avant-Folk. It's a lot more free jazz and modern classical than folk or rock adjacent

This was a great vid brad. thanks for the recommendations, definitely going to check these out.
Doing an interpolation of Ye’s “Amazing” for 12 minutes is an interesting upload. I don’t know if I’d count it as music but it’s all subjective.
Only joined streams recently but I'm excited to request and be shown small artists and those in the community just beginning, some of the artists ive heard from this community are amazing and just know we're all rooting for yall.
i am amazed brad changed his igor review. i completely agree it’s a 10/10. he found his way, brads life is truly like a video game.

Brad than you so much for shining light on ever chance. This is one of the best things ive heard all year
I knew Paintscrather was going to be in this video, ambient albums like that don’t normally do stuff for me but that had me in a headspace to see a lot of those vivid mental pictures like you mentioned. Glad to see this video, and those of us who’ve been here a minute know what you were talking about at the end and may they be resting in peace

I've made a handful of songs for a project that I ended up scrapping, I need to dive back into that Putting music together cohesively and not showing my influences too much is so hard but I've done it before so i know I have it in me
i remember tuning in to a stream and paintscratcher was playing, and it stuck with me enough to go back to the project repeatedly. suffice to say its stellar and an experience worthwhile!
when i’m with the homies and fog starts playing
I’m so glad you posted about this! I was in the stream that the first song was submitted- it’s super good :)
i once was able to submit my song for free by telling brad to listen to it under the condition it had to be above an 8.5 (else i would be permabanned from his chat). i lost with a 7.5 but brad had mercy on me giving me a week ban because my song was good anyways. take what you will from this information.
glad that you decided to give take me back to eden an 11/10!
making an album in Audacity is fucking insaaaanee ill definitely have to check it out at some point
Yo I can not believe this!
ever chance sounds like a manic episode, but I love it.
The vocals on ever chance remind me a lot of Blue Smiley's vocals. They're another band where people say the awkward vocals make or break the experience, but they work so well for me despite being buried under their heavy shoegaze aesthetic.
Brad amazed at music
I am glazed 😪
I really like how every song in ever chance loops perfectly, cool detail that i enjoy a lot
Please keep the small/independent music coming, it's been a trip to discover new things through this channel. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Brad, you’re my favorite music reviewer! Glad to hear your enjoying the music people are sending you (most of it at least)
Great shoutout for Paintscratcher - I love their album Life and Death, one of my favourite ambient albums tbh.
I saw you listening to painscratcher. I really need to finish listening to that one Fog reminds me a lot of swans. I'll have to check it out.
brads an absolute legend for this
Man Brad you really are a great thing for the music community
The song 'Happy Ending Problem' by FOG goes incredibly well with the song 'Uusi Teknokratia' by Oranssi Pazuzu.

Dude, the part with the bass drum sax looping and going higher in pitch as the fucking demon vocals go "hIgHer" and go up in pitch too is just an absolutely FUCKED part. I kind of wish there were more slow burns and it was structured a little better, but still, very cool album that would definitely ensure that your friends never hand you the aux. It reminded me honestly a little bit more of Scott Walker's later work than at all of Godspeed more than anything

@@monophone903It's like your brain gets thrown into a little whirlpool of insanity. I'm a bit a of music noob, but your comments made me check out both Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Scott Walker, I've heard of both before but never took the time to listen to either of them. So thank you, I'm really enjoying Godspeed. Would there be any material by Scott Walker you'd recommend?
@MalevolentReflux

@@monophone903This is odd, I just turned into Brad's paid request stream and what is he playing: Scott Walker - Cossacks Are. Which seems to be Scott Walker's later material, what a beautiful coincidence.

@@MalevolentReflux I don't know. I like his baroque pop series just as much as his more chaotic batshit insane stuff. But I would skip past his stuff past 70' until his Walker Brothers record and maybe Climate of Hunter. But I think his evolution is one of the most mind blowing ever. Like, the Beatles gradually started experimenting, Björk gradually started to get more experimental, Radiohead it was gradual, and then Scott Walker goes from baroque pop and then boring contemporary soft rock straight into insanity to rival Captain Beefheart. It's fucking insane
@MalevolentReflux

@@monophone903I've noticed and I love it, I've listened to The Drift in full 1,5 times now and that's right up my alley. Clara was my favorite track thusfar, The Escape was hilarious when the vocals went full Donald Duck and I'm pretty sure there was a donkey sample too somewhere on the album. I'm gonna check his early work tomorrow, I'm enjoying the trip! Thank you once more.
