This is soooooo true! However (and especially with a single dad who didn’t know he was for two years and raped to bring her here)he is in survival mode/Parent mode looking for help and it may be wrapped up with “liking” her and the family idea of not do it alone. If that’s the case they can still build but they have to start over dating to get to know each other for real. Moving in together probably wasn’t the best idea.

I can't entirely agree, only because of my experience. My deepest wounds that were imposed in relation were healed in relation. My beloved partner has shown me ways to be with myself and provided a space for me to be vulnerable. Even though my mind knew I was safe in relation, feeling safe in my body and nervous system took some time. I'm grateful to my partner for entering and not leaving the relationship because I carried trauma. Love, connection and relation is the answer. It healed my body and mind and restored balance in my heart.

Healing is a lifelong process in regards to that type of trauma. A person doesn't get therapy for a few years then become magically healed.

Honestly that's pretty impossible. A person should start the process and know how to not project their triggers, but in my experience of sexual trauma + childhood emotional and verbal abuse, I will be working through this forever.

She was on 10 when she came out, but what i like about her is how she cane down when he started expressing what he has been through. She turned into the Sweetest person. You can see in his face that he's constantly worried too. i hate seeing that when i look at people. Hopefully he's able to put the wall down so he can finally relax and release.

People tend to have preconceptions about what they think a man is and how he should act. Once someone doesn't fit the mold in their head, they're automatically deemed gay or something else... And, for some reason, men aren't allowed to experience trauma. Only women. If a man is raped, it's expected that he enjoyed it. Because he's a man, not a human.

Some women absolutely have in fact stated that after being raped by a man they have in fact turned gay and would rather be intimate with other women. And thats okay. He’s a man and of course it’s not going to be that easy for him to want to open up to her about the fears he has on being intimate, if he is in fact sexually attracted to her. I can hear the pain in his voice. He's been through a lot, and I clearly understand why he feels the way he does. He is still traumatized and is definitely not over the sexual assault of his ex-girlfriend. I pray that he seeks counseling so that he can have a happy, healthy relationship. His ex-girlfriend should be charged & jailed for date rape. If not caught, she may continue this sick, demonic behavior on other innocent men!

In the beginning of this segment, I was angry at how the girl friend came out and spoke to the brutha on national TV. It was emasculating. However, I was delighted to see her calm down and listen. Especially when he talked about being date raped and having to fight for custody of his daughter. They both truly listed and took responsibility for their roles in the lack of intimacy in their relationship. By the end of that segment I was in tears. We never know what traumas people have faced in their lives and why they act the way they do. If you are lucky enough to find a great partner, fight for them. Karamo did a great job of mediating that segment and putting both of them on a path to healing individually and as a couple. I've never seen his show before, but I will definitely be watching.

My brother Inlaw was given the date rape drugs years ago by a few women who took him to a hotel and they had sex with him discussing. Women rape too and should be charged

OMGOD the got me crying in my house right now. The pain that man has been carrying on his shoulders and inside for one. It takes ALOT of strength to honestly open up to the world and say what happend to him plus to the woman he wants to love. I commend his lady also for letting him know the GEM OF A MAN she has. Young man, you are much stronger than you believe or even give yourself credit for. It's ok to accept that you may or may not have made the correct choices in life. The key is squaring your shoulders back , lifting your head of high, come face to face with your pain, allow the pain to do what it does and then move forward... Assess, listen and evaluate will always be the key factors in making the choices that are right for you. It's very plain and simple!!!!!!

I got emotional watching this video. There’s pain, and I appreciate the honesty so we can relate to one another. We need healing and this was it.

You would have made sense 100% if you didn't judge them by their lack of sex. Sex is cheap and it's the easiest thing anyone can give you and it still would mean nothing!! They met on a Christian site, did you hear that part? So his spirituality, religious beliefs or trauma might be making him wait. Nevertheless, I agree they shouldn't be in a relationship. He surely has deep rooted issues he needs to find his way through. Do I think he loves her? No! This episode broke my heart for both of them. They both have trust issues, and they both have been hurt and disappointed, it just manifests in different ways. In Marilyn, it's hyper-defensive, loud talking, and for Isiah, he builds a wall and retreats. I think your observation on her is wrong, she only came out that way because what he was talking was completely false and I understand from her perspective because I’ve been there. She expresses herself whether it’s happiness, admiration, anger, love.. so much!! I applaud her fully because of the type of individual I witnessed and observed.

He reminds me of my bf He was traumatized from his previous relationship that he was cheated on And never be healed. He never trusted me as same reason “flirtatious” whatever shit And he decided to cheat on me because he thought I was cheating on him so he said he wanted to cheat on me “first” so when he found out he won’t be hurt that much. Literally I wasted my whole year and half being loyal and loving him unconditionally. It just so selfish He was the one who got traumatized and now I got cheated on So fucked up

This episode touch my heart to the core!! They better work it out, and stay together.

That's what I said. They love each other and he doesn't know how to express it. Women know how to express themselves better. We even know what the man is feeling without them saying something sometimes. She is there for him and wants to be with him.

Being controlling is a result of trauma and lack of coping skills and emotional maturity. All things that can push ppl away. Even if they love you deeply.

I hope that this man finds the peace that he so desperately needs. He has been thru so much. I too am a victim of abuse. I hope both of these individuals come too a place where they both trust each other and be the best parents too this mans daughter

It happens a lot more than you think. I know someone very close to me that is a man, that got raped like that. But he was at a friends house and his friends watched the girl put something in his drink and then the whole thing happened and then watched him pass out and stay on the floor the whole night. Then tell him what happened in the morning. He was so broken for a while. I felt so bad for him. And his girlfriend at the time didn’t know how to take it. She felt bad but didn’t fully understand. But they stayed together and got married. Had a baby and everything. I’m glad it didn’t keep him down. His brother punched one of the guys that watched

She has bags under her eyes from crying so much. Choose yourself sis & love him from a distance.

I can’t imagine the pain he’s been through nor what she’s endured a lot. Both are hurt and need healing. I believe they can heal together.

Saying that you don't believe she's flirting, is definitely your opinion . The boy friend was there to see what his girlfriend was saying & doing . Now, there's a possibility that she is just being friendly, but sometimes, it's hard to tell the difference between being very friendly & flirting when you know someone is very friendly, flirty & sneaky . People act & pretend well .

Just tuned in, but he reminds me of a dog that has been abused and is just there shaking. He really needs therapy and healing. My heart really felt his brokenness.

From what he went through in the past. This guy chose to be reserved and that's what he needs to deal with for healing process to happen. He has a very supportive wife. Kudos gal
