I really liked seeing the stark difference in play from when you chased vs playing back. Would be cool to see that real time difference in the later rank videos too.

after your first roatation to SSL video, I played some 1s and just focused on securing the midfield... won a champ tournament.

Underrated skills that you used and aren't that common in bronze (everyone should work on those): - good recoveries : using powerslide to keep momentum after being bumped, and landing on all 4 wheels facing the right direction every time. - good boost management : use a little boost to reach max speed and then stop boosting. also grabbing enough pads. - good car control while in reverse. - good field awareness , like being able to take a big boost pad without turning the camera to look at it. - using powerslide taps to make sharp turns.

I started playing Rocket League literally a month ago, and my third casual game my happy ass drove all over the walls trying to smack the ball, of course i missed, but i tried adjusting to it quickly. Now im forever gonna be a Platinum player 😂😂

Maybe it’s just me. But I started the game 2 days ago and got placed silver after day 1. And I was a chaser the first day, just going up walls and stuff not afraid to do it. I think silvers are excited to do something they would go all the way up the walls and try and do flashy stuff.

I like these lessons and I think they're good. I think it probably would have been best for you to take the L. I get that you wanna move up the ranks quicker but if you're smurfing for education then you should stick to the level you decided to play at. Don't get me wrong I think it's useful but... Like we all know you can go through the gears and win any of these games. I think it's a bit unfair on the opponents to up your game to ensure they lose. No hate, you're my fave RL KZreadr, just subscribed.

Could you do the same thin in 2v2s? Some day?

Road to SSL series are like Isekai. I will watch all of them without fail, even if its repetitive.

I created an alternate account (inspired by you) to see how each rank played differently, when i started RL I was straight into Gold, currently gold 3 and usually jumping up to plat 1 before falling back to gold, I was never a bronze or silver, so I created an alt account, threw all my matches and played against some bronze, my intentions weren't to smurf them but to simply see how they played out of 10 matches (after I got my rank in competitive) 2 of out of those 10 beat me with ease, all I could think (how am I gold?? how are they bronze?? this makes no sense...) I came to the conclusion that either I just got lucky to some extent or they're not really bronze players lol, I later played against some silvers and it was weird, they were somewhat challenging but nothing compared to those two bronze players.

I noticed you were using powerslide a lot, at least I think I saw the dirt particles of when you powerslide in pretty much every change of direction. Maybe I'm wrong about that since it seems like very quick touches (in which case, do let me know if I noticed it wrong). I've heard a lot about those small toches in powerslide, but it's not something common to see until the higher ranks (I'm plat and I still didn't get used to doing it often)

In his mechanics for each rank video he says you should be practicing them always and physically tapping a button isn’t hard so I think he’s justified

Yeah, I think thats fair enough. It's just not something you usually see "in the wild" too much, but you're right, it's not as if you need to be a mechanical master to do that

that is true, however he's still doing placement matches so his opponents and teammates usually have much lower mmr. we can see most of them have between 300 and 400

I only said that because I was getting silver lobbies but I noticed that the silvers mmr was around 400 while mine was around 700

thought u'd change to coaching someone at the levels to show how to rotate or be patient or wtv

I would rather see you playing like a good silver, explaining your decisions and pointing wrong plays of other players. But i might be wrong, so idk. I hate to do this to you Virge but you aren't making a good case here. When *you* "ball-chase" you do it so well; only going for things your teammates stand no chance of getting. There was no double commits that ended badly because of something you did and most of your touches were better plays. In-fact the only time you "made a mistake" was when you purposely hit the ball back, that only resulted in a goal because you left the ball; which illustrates a completely different point.... _Pay attention and don't set-up your opponents by shooting the ball the wrong direction from your opponents half_ In other words: that way, not the other. That back-play could have just as easily been a controlling play made because your teammates were being beat to the ball, were far too close together and rather than letting the opponents simply dunk on them, you touched the ball safely back into the friendly corner or alternatively rushed away to make space.
