Yeah, in particular I'd like an explanation of why 16 is the "magic number" for playing a double pip card on 3 mana, and 18 for a double pip on 4.

thats no rocket science, make the auto magic guy fill you lands, switch for duals, think if oyu need or dont need basics and ad dmore of a color whose cards you absolutely need to play early, aggro 22 -23 lands midrange 24 -25, control 24-26. Also you have some special cards which let you have less lands like in green, but not so much in this set.

Here I was, thinking Cronk didn't use the KZread channel for anything other than VODs and now we get TWO deck tech/gameplay videos in a row. Strange times we live in...

I enjoyed the other stuff too, one of my favourite videos was the death shadow footfall crater where you roasted a guy for saying footfall crater was bad, cause that was still great gameplay and super entertaining. Was a very fun deck to play and destroyed other mono blue decks even when I fell behind. Love the new format of your videos where you do a commentary during the video.

Great video. Been thinking about mono blues weaknesses! Basically draw a djinn and have all the counters or lose 😂. Black does exactly what you explained and it just loses some small consistency.

Replace Cut Down with Infernal Grasp. Replace Spell Pierce & Essence Scatter with 4 Negate, because there's already enough creature removal. 3 Bankbusters instead of 4 to make room for the 4 Negate. It's been working well so far. Kaito, Dancing Blade will be a must have, to combo with Sheoldred, Whispering One. Good job man!

I gotta say, this deck is FUN AS HELL to play! Thanks for the idea! Gave it a go and have been playing it all day long. Made some tweaks too and it got even more fun!

If mono blue improves this much, I'll bet it's worth trying the old gruul wolves deck + good black cards/Trespasser. The kill spells incentivize passing to flip to night and Shelly plays well with Tovolar's card draw

Been running a similar deck with Noone left behind, 5 mana rebuy sheldroed or 3 mana rebuy djin. Since u have only those 2 creatures some recursion seems good

Have you tested the list with Roan's Vortex?

Definitely like the approach, manabase sometimes feels a bit clunky and it has issues getting value against grixis for instance.

Having played a lot of mono blue this season and having tried many different cards in the tempo shell, I absolutely love what you built here. This might actually be better than mono blue, even though I disagree with mono blue being a terrible deck. It's quite okay actually. The other thing I disagree with is the bankbuster. Trust me, impulse is just better in this deck. Not in terms of pure value, of course, but you shouldn't underestimate how much mono blue depends on having the right cards *at the right time*. It's often like "I need a counterspell right now or I'll lose four turns from now". Impulse does just that. Plus, with a naughty djinn on the board, it lets you draw one for one mana less than bankbuster does. And it is another instant in your graveyard. Apart from that, I think you're playing one land too many. I would swap out a swamp for a liliana.

Seems an obvious upgrade, think with the acelleration could be 2-3 sheoldred and a couple of other cards. Terror seems good in mono blue but i think surge engine is just waiting for a build like this.

Question for you Crokeyz, you may have answered before, but how do you determine the color amount in lands vs the mana requirements of the cards. Like when you said 18 blue for Jinn and 16 black for Shelly

Seems like you seldom want to play the Djinn on 3, so I think you could probably drop the Towers in favor of Swamps. You lose out on the late game draw, but it might be worth it.
