Hey Ben, I have two comments about long poker sessions, both from my early days: (1) Just a month or two after I started playing poker, I was at a table at Ocean's 11 with a guy who said he had been playing poker for 4 or 5 straight days. He was the grumpiest, most irritable person at the table, and even I, who wasn't that good at that point, was able to beat him. (2) The longest poker session I ever had was 22 hours at Hollywood Park. This was over 2 years later. I still wasn't all that good, and of course, I did lousy. It was one of the worst poker sessions I ever had, and I also vowed never to do that again. My poker sessions haven't come close to that long since then, and I dare say,I've gotten a lot better since those days.

Anytime I get to have the chance to vacation in a mountain town, I find that as an older version of myself appears in the mirror these days, that getting 20 minutes of cardio before gearing up makes a huge difference in the beating that my body takes. Also, lots of braces, wraps, and athletic tape to choose from these days. Have fun! Don't forget to go with a resistance setting that will be forgiving when just starting back on skis.⛄❄🧦

I guess Ben Deach has a really narrow range here going for a big size on the flop oop/multiway and 0 bluffs lol so just calling makes a lot of sense. Not really a fan of the way the hand was played by Ben. Against good opponents they are just going to fold a lot and call or raise when Ben is beat. A hand like KQo in the hands of a good player would be inclined to fold already on the flop against a big bet.

I hate bomb pots too. In Texas they charge by time and not rake. They play PLO double board bomb pots, every dealer change, and also some other times too. These always chew up a lot of time with lots of all ins and split pots as often the dealer spends a great deal of time doling out the various side pots to various players. Often 1/2 the time is devoted to these hands. I simply won’t play in this game.

Villain’s play in AA>QQ 5:18 is questionable. Why call the 4 bet pre to fold to continuation bet? Hero’s range more likely to have hands Villain is ahead of on flop (16 combos AK v 6 combos AA and 6 Kk). I think flop call and turn reevaluate proper. If Villain has good read / nitty fold (ie, believing hero only 4 bets with KKs plus) then preflop fold is proper exploit as QQ are no better than set mining deuces if Villain believes Hero weighted to KKs+. Call 4 bet to only fold on flop seems like worst option. I do think Hero has leak of having imbalance 3 and 4 betting range. Hero’s videos do seem to suggest 4 bets only with KKs plus. Hero in general seems to call raises more and appears to reraise less on the bottom of range / blocker hands. I think Villain had right exploit but deployed it on street to late on flop instead of preflop.

  • @uosorio

We gotta talk about that AA vs QQ hand. You said you were playing 5 handed and proceed to reraise the guy on the button that raised your $30 to $80. 1st what are you afraid of/put him on to 4 bet? Doesn't this show your opponent extreme... I mean EXTREME strength here 5 handed? With him holding QQ he is definitely putting you on KK, AK, or AA. Thus, when you bet out on the flop on a dry board he knows you have the goods. It would have been better to just call his 3bet preflop, check to him on the flop to continue to under rep your hand. This is how you will make more money on your big hands in these spots, especially short handed.
