Diesel over petrol hatch's are i20, Figo, Altroz, Jazz, Wrv. Swift, Baleno, Polo, i10 nios are the hatchbacks are better in petrol than their Diesel's.

I took a test drive of the diesel i20 yesterday.1.5 CRDI unit is an absolute hoot to drive.kick in the pants feel for sure.A tad expensive though.Excellent review.❤️❤️

Just seen this message... logically i20 must be spacious since it is wider than sonet shares same wheel base and sonet is bit higher in seating position which result in better view but reduces driveability

I would say new i20 is crazily high priced. Top end on road is around 13.98 lakhs fraction less than 14 lakhs which is super duper costly.

No... but I scratched XUV 300 from my list As there is lots of engine noise( unrefined diesel engine and the sales figure is less which means sooner or later it will seen as failure model for M&M). If you are financially healthy I suggest go for Sonet Diesel top end Automatic which has VGT. (Note: AT is with VGT engine and Manual is WGT) The same engine for bigger brothers Verna,Creta and Sonet. Still if VGT is nor your preference i20 which is 2 lakhs cheaper with Same features is well go.

For eg. Polo tsi manual costed 10.4 lakhs. Comparing that, this is diesel, one more cylinder, 1500cc engine, best steering feedback upto 30lakhs(yes you heard it right, many times better than polo, trust me), better suspension, better mileage, better refinement, sunroof, Bose speakers, 10.2 inch infotainment screen with superior navigation, esc, ebd and a lot more.

Thanks for the ride review and may I like to ask how it rates compared to Kia Sonet 1.5 ltr Diesel. Which would be better choice…..

I have driven both. Both comes with the same diesel engine with a slight detuning in the i20. If budget is not the issue then go for verna. Verna is almost 3 lacs dearer for the same set of features. But if your usage is more in the city then go for i20. It’s just convenient with premium hatchback. CRDI diesel engine is smooth as butter and I really like its linear nature with practically no turbo lag.

This vlog says that i20 diesel is fun to drive. faisal is also loving it so much.
