    That makes sense. But hatchbacks have advantages. Usually in the indian market, we don't get engine options and features like a sedan in a hatchback. But this car is an exception.

    1.2 variants are priced similar to Altroz! And its 1.2 is better than that Trash 1.2 of Altroz

    11.18 which will go 13-13.5L on road will be hard to justify for a Hyundai hatchback, although the top model is loaded, it eventually comes in the segment of lower versions of verna , city or even seltos and creta

    The SX(O) has 6 airbags, bose sound system with subwoofer, sunroof, tyre pressure monitor, 1.0L turbo 118bhp engine with DCT. I don't think verna or venue is better than the top end i20. People are saying it's overpriced only because it's a hatchback. But they'll happily buy jacked up hatchbacks like venue for a higher price. Isn't this lighter i20 better than Venue.??

    I think people will be buying the lower end models instead of the baleno or the Altroz, but the top end Turbo variant (which costs almost 14lakh) wont be doing so well. Thats almost the price for a mid spec Honda City.

    I don't know about you all but I dont like the new i20 design. Don't even love the interior. The previous model was more premium looking. Looks do matter same as performance in Indian market.

    Its not always about price I guess.. some people would not have the parking space to park SUVs or would like in crowded cities where driving SUV is a pain.

    Pricing will be hard to justify in a market which leans so heavily towards SUVs ( if you could call them that ). I'd rather get a Sonet or Nexon. Also that front end, my goodness. Previous gen i20 had such an elegant front end, way to ruin it.

    Excited to see the complete review.. the 1.0 turbo charged auto... taking on the VW polo it looks from the spec... what about drivability...? How is the steering response.. lucklust like the other Hyundai’s or has it gone neat too.. suspension set up.. hope that has changed... compare it to the VW polo pls... Altroz.. with its spec.. may be in for a tough competition.. let’s see how it fares there... Thank you for a quick overview ACI team

    I think the variants that will bring in numbers is the 1.2 MT Magna to Asta - and they are priced on par with the segment offerings from other brands. The 1.0 ltr turbo is there to show it can be done in this segment.

    I have booked i20 sport petrol ⛽️ but I am confuse between baleno or i20 . When I have drive the new I20 Pick up wise I don't feel so good apart from that everything is good , Baleno pick up wise so good . I Need suggestions should I go for i20 or baleno

    People in the comments, "over priced", I think it's perfectly priced for the amount of things they are giving out. And I don't understand why people are comparing this with SUVs. Every car manufacturer out there is only putting out SUVs. There are people who'd prefer hatchback over SUV. I'm one of them coz I already own an Innova.

    My First Comment in KZread. I am so happy & satisfied with my previous model i20 Sportz plus version car,which I purchased just before this launch.. 31.10.2020 with a great discount also.. :) My car & it's feature, majestic looks are much more better than this new version..

    Yes I agree, but not all people want big cars, this is a hatchback. People buy the i20 as it is a hatchback. Otherwise there would only be vernas, and venues on the road.

    Apparently, we can feel the priorities of our consumers, it is more inclined towards features and resale value. I feel that's unfortunate. It ruins many things and if this continues for long, it may change the mindset/approach of other manufacturers also due to visible market trends. I hope ford, Mahindra, Tata, VW, Skoda, and Toyota do not get carried away with this. I don't want to see them going into losses due to the stupidity and priorities of Indian consumers. Their marketing teams need to buckle up, educate consumers, and sell their products based on their forte/positives. Peace.

    I too own a 2012 i gen i20 Mangna(o) which costed 5.71 On road , but it does not have standard Safety Features-Airbags and ABS. Cars acorss segments have got costlier than their previous generations and its not just the i20. I also own 2019 Elite i20 Asta which costed 7.7 lacs Onroad after discount. Happy with Both

    Nope... You aren't alone! The original design language of both the models have been lost in their newest iteration. The front is still ok for both. It's best not to say anything about the rear!

    I have been driving 1.2 ivt 2020 i20 since last 2700 kms in city and highway. It so not feel underpowered, IVT keeps a check on throttle to downshift and give you power during overtaking and when needed. City mileage is 13-14 and highway its 17-18. Overall my sportz ivt 1.2 is fulfilling and is value for money i paid for. Too happy about all the offerings by car... Drive it own it and believe it. GO FOR IT...

    new honda city is not bad. it certainly isnt using the Jazz architecture like the prev model but instead went for an all new south asian specific rework as city isnt sold in the western countries. good thing the car actually makes up for the lack in sharp edges!

    That's for Turbo engine!! If you don't want turbo engine..just go for 1.2 MPi Asta(o) which costs around 9.3lakh (almost same as that of its rivals and power figures too)

    The z shaped taillights do look distinctive but they are positioned a bit low. I am not sure if that will be liked by most. Hyundai's other cars like Creta and Aura also have their taillights stretched downwards. That makes the rear look not dynamic but, dare I say, gawky!

    Hyundai hit the right spot with i20. Very few people can understand brand loyalty, and that is what brands like VW, Honda and Hyundai work on. All those who own Santros, i10s and accents will surely upgrade to this car and it will steal customers from VW for sure. and where you Altroz fan boys get it wrong is that pricing has nothing to do with customers in the VW, Honda and Hyundai bracket. they will never scale down to Tata nor to Suzuki. If they can afford an i20 for 10lakh, they'd buy it and never have a buyers remorse unlike "saving money and going for the Altroz". P.S. not saying Tata makes bad cars, they do have good benchmark products, but they target a totally different mass market. VW, Honda and Hyundai do not target high volume sales, but target customers with deep pockets and who can actually understand there is more to a product than its price tag.

    I you like the ride quality and feel of a Sedan in a compact car, this is the car to buy, I would definitely purchase this, but I am still not very sure about the dct in city conditions, waiting to see what the turbo petrol Altroz brings.

    It's not in the segment of other hatchbacks in the indian market. Look at the options and the features available. 120PS turbo gdi with DCT, punchy diesel engine, lighter weight. I believe it's better than Venue other than lower ride height and smaller tyres.

    Yes of course it's future loaded but the second base option is on par with the top model of altroz and baleno....Tooo much overpriced...U could spent a lill more and get a venue or sonet

    They need to add projected headlamps and rear seat adjustable headrests to the sportz model of i20, so as to make it comparable to altroz xz and baleno alpha.

    Someone with really big 💓 will buy this .. Rear looks so ugly .. Pricing is so high 1200 cc engine really sucks... 1.0 ltr turbo makes unpleasant sound Blue link technology really sucks whether you are in really good network In real world what do you want from your car ? The Company always misses them. Everybody complaining about thier lights their steering still this company stand still and giving all these lifeless steering ,dim lights useless features in their cars .. What hyundai is trying to show ....There dealers doesn't provide you test drive vehicle so people are bluffing only they don't know what type of performance we got from other than turbo engines ...Out of 100 dealers there are only 10 dealers which provides you a test drive vehicle other than they don't care to show you any other variant other than top ....

    the new i20 could also a compact 4-Dr Sedan version because unlike the previous generation i20 the design of the new i20 has just the characteristics necessary for a proper 5-Dr Hatchback to a compact 4-Dr Sedan conversion!!!

    Bro we have booked i20 magna and delivery of it is tomorrow.I wanted to know there is no seat height adjustment in it so, if they r is no seat height adjustment then what will be the placement of it i mean will the seat be at very low,medium or very high and one more thing I wanted to know that when you drive this car then will u adjust height or u will drive in the default height. my height is 5.9 foot will there be any problem driving in it I mean the visibility in it or will I get difficulties in it to ride coz there is no height adjustable naa so...also its a premium hatchbag so its seating will be low only.... Plz help me sir with my query

    U forgot to mention SUNROOF which is also segment first feature too.....But great review......overall I20 alone can compete with maruti's baleno and Swift alone....they do not need to bring any other hatch.
