Hyundai Genesis - Modified!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this 74th Video from Classic Car ChitChat you will get to see a beautiful 2013 Hyundai Genesis that is the BK2 Model. It has a Genesis premium trim package and although a 2L Engine it pumps out tons of power with it’s Turbo Charger. It also has an unmistakable carbon fiber wing!
In case you are keeping Track this is Video # 74 of Classic Car ChitChat Videos!
I hope my Classic Car ChitChat video’s make you smile. I do them in my spare time because I truly love cars and my intentions are simply to honour the beautiful cars I get to see and to really understand the passion and love of the vehicle by the driver (or caretaker as Jay Leno would say) of the car. I also understand too that my videos perhaps lack the polish calibre of great KZreadrs like: Doug DeMuro, Scotty Kilmer, and of course my favourite Supercar Blondie. I also know that I can’t even come close the quality & finish you get from the likes of Jeremy Clarkson and the boys at Top Gear. I think they use a little fancier equipment than my little iPhone… LOL
Mission Statement:
My Objective through creating these videos is to shine the spotlight on people who love their vehicles whether it be a car, motorcycle, or even a bicycle…. Bottom line is if it has wheels and you love it then let’s show that passion to the world!
Equipment Used:
Camera - Just an iPhone SE (Nothing fancy - which proves anyone can use whatever you have handy to make a video… you don’t need really expensive equipment)
Gimbal - DJI OM4 - For that ultra-smooth cinematic look. (To be honest... still not quite sure how to use it but one day I will figure it out!)
Audio - Rode Wireless GO II (I gotta be honest… this is really the biggest investment that was made… I wish there was a cheaper option but after the first couple of videos I soon realized that audio quality is important and hopefully better than the onboard mic on the iPhone!

If you have read this far, then I thank you. As always, I truly appreciate your “thumbs-up”, and by leaving your comments it demonstrates to me that I managed to get you involved and hopefully made you smile. Most importantly when you subscribe to my channel then you are truly acknowledging my effort to help share with others like you my passion and love for “all things that have wheels” and honouring the people who take care of them.
Thank You
Kevin

Frank, you are so right here. It is an awesome car.
This video and car brings back so many fond memories. My very first car was a Genesis 2011 Coupe BK1. I loved that car. It too was red and people used to say it can't be good because it was a Hyundai. I had that car for 5 years and in all 5 years it cost me nothing other than gas. I bought then a BMW M3 which in 5 years cost me more than I had spent on the Genesis on repairs alone on the BMW!

If you take care of the car it will take care of you. I take my Genesis Coupe to the track and beat on it all day with no issues
Nice GC! One tip to the owner is to remove that rear roof spoiler. It trips the airflow before it hits your rear wing making it ineffective. So if you want to make better use of your rear wing, remove the roof spoiler.

Tommy, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow "ordinary" people who love cars an opportunity to speak about their car and why that car means so much to them. After all we are all the "caretakers"of our cars (as Jay Leno rightly says). 🙂 Great tip, I will be sure to share with the owner.
I see why this car is so popular. I was looking at getting the Nissan I think I am heading towards the Genesis now. Great content.

Get the 3.8 v6, 2009-2012 is port injected with like 306hp, 2013-2016 is direct injection with 349hp, both crank. The 2.0 has known issues when going past stock power. But my 15’ 3.8 is getting ready to pass 100K miles and has had zero issues. Oil changes every 5K miles and other regular maintenance goes a long way. Hope you come to the Gen side brother, see you on the forums
Great video and always fun to watch. Always leaves me smiling.

Zar, First of all thank you so very much for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel I truly appreciate it. My intention for the videos is to allow ´ordinary people’ like you and I who love cars an opportunity to speak about their love of their car and why that car means so much to them. After all we are all the ´caretakers’ of our cars (as Jay Leno rightly says). I agree with you completely. To be honest I never realized how well engineered these cars were straight out of the factory. The mods just make these cars a little more sweeter.
Awesome review. I absolutely love this car. Would be super dope to see you review a modified 3.8 next! If you were anywhere near me I’d lone mine out 😂

I think I have bben converted. I was looking at getting a carto mod and thinking about the Nissan but now I want a Genesis.

You know you are going to cry when you sell her Alex 😢
The Genesis is a car that people tend to shy away from them because they think it's a Hyundai. It is anything but that. In fact I would go out on a limb and say that as the gap between Honda and their Acura is tiny compared to the huge gap between Hyundai and Genesis. I believe the Genesis can take on Jaguar, LR, BMW and Mercedes and win. I don't think Acura could.

Dave, you raise some great points. I would agree the Genesis is often overlooked, I think also with their new designs and pushing the EV envelope they will be ahead of their competitors very soon.
Back seats do fold. This specific engine does well with 5w40. Most of the 2.0T that blew up is because of people beating on it with the wrong oil (5w20) and not doing the proper maintenance on time. These cars aren't going to be cheap for long. I've already seen high mileage bk1 go for 10-15k. Also there are ppl pushing 450hp with the stock bk1 internals. Synthetic oil 5w40 really makes a difference. The turbo drastically degrades 5w20. The 2.0T is not meant to have 5w20. I believe there was a service recall. Hyundai switched it to 5w30 if im not mistaken. But imo 5w40 synthetic is the best for the 2.0T
