    This is just like the first car I brought home in 1967 when I turned 16 ($500). My Dad threw a fit because it was a Studebaker and already out of business. He said I would have a hard time getting replacement parts when needed. I wonder how much this car would cost to buy today? 🏁

    I have 3 rubber bumper MGB`s. A `78 (seasonal) daily driver roadster with older `80`s restoration & recent Weber sidedraft carb vs the Stromberg. Also have a `76 (no-title) parts car and 3rd MG is a titled 1975 Anniversary Edition w/5-sp overdrive trans. I aqcuired it a couple yrs ago with blown head gasket, overheated no doubt. Yes, these things run the temp up fast in busy traffic so I installed the parts car radiator in addition to the one in my `78 daily, plumbed to the other, not a difficult task with flexible hose. There`s a single electric thermostat fan in front of the stock rad, making the space for the additional rad + hoses. I`m hoping to get to work on the `75 any day, I`m a lot more stoked on it now after watching your video! Oh ya...I hate shoulder-belts and replaced my `78 with lap-only belts, personal pref. And yes! That dang windshield top header-bar is terrible for blocking streetlights in front above. Have a great day & new car sub!

    Quite the personalized Beetle. FYI: Lots of small errors regarding the 67 Vert. Not made in Wolfsburg but at the Karmann factory in , Osnabrück, Germany. After-market non-German front fenders (probably Mexican made) , incorrect front bumper and guards, incorrect rear bumper less tapered over-rider bars (towel bars). Deck lid stand-offs unnecessary. Incorrect front style seat covers, after-market hinged door grabs not original, missing Karmann logo passenger side badge, fog lamp not original or widely used, incorrect color fender beading, missing black hood spring covers, missing gas tank cover and side panels, incorrect 67 only dash knobs, incorrect gas pedal, sideways clutch pedal pad, missing 67 one-year-only retractable front belts, missing rear ashtray in right side panel, missing 12 Volt sticker in driver door jamb, incorrect 67 only door lock pull knobs, etc. Otherwise, pretty nice 67. one of only 7597 produced compared to 13,354 68s, 15,826 69s, 18,008 70s, 24,273 71s, so fairly rare with about 500 or so 67s extent.

    @@ClassicCarChitChat Kevin, Please express to the 67 Beetle convertible owner that my comments are intended for his useful information rather than a criticism. It's a beautiful car and I realize owners indeed love to personalize their rides. And, tell him to Pa-leeze get those Hella reverse lights back on this 67 along with correct over-rider bars, signature 67 and both one-year-only and completely unique to the 1967 Beetle.

  • @ClassicCarChitChat
    @ClassicCarChitChat9 күн бұрын

    Bavskijt, it’s a great question.. I believe the 75 sold for $4,300 USD, and the 73 was a little more pricier at around $3,600 USD. This roughly was about $25,000 in today’s money. Which was a little higher than the average salary back in the day.
