i have this car and i can agree, it only has 138hp but it feels really torquey so you feel the accelerations (obviously not comparing this to any sporty cars)and i've never tried the automatic one since mine is manual but as a comparison, i smoke my brother's manual 2l 2015 lancer from 1 to second gear but he has fucking 19in wheels and it is probably really different if we do like 100-160 or anything at higher speed but we never tried. (from my experience, its a great car but the body in general feels cheap, my aux input does not work, passengers can only roll down the windows and only the driver can roll them up. i bought mine at 100000km and not even 5000 km after purchasing it, i had an EPS error that made the driving unsafe since my steering wheel would be inconsistent and would make my car go left or right randomly (if you know you have this issue, the driving is manageable but kinda dangerous if you are not paying attention...). fortunately they are gonna repair it for free since it was already part of a recall.

I have a 09 with an automatic, I've never had an issue with the engine or tranny since I bought it 5 years ago. All my issues were with the steering and undercarriage, the electric steering mechanism had to be replaced along with the ball joints, tie rod ends, sway bar links. The expensive parts were the struts( $295 Canadian + taxes each ) and rear shocks ( about $95 each )plus labour, the car has a little over 226,000 kilometres on it. Here in Canada there 2 ways to spell labour and kilometres, I picked the older way.

I've noticed that Hyundai radios from this time period are terrible. They struggle to pick up a signal. Even when the car was brand new the radio was bad.

I"ve had mine 12 years now. Never felt anything in it was 'cheap'. Most cars are made of plastic. Where have you been? You want more in your car? Pay more. If this is a 2009, you bought an either earlier model or cheaper version. The radio will work well...depends where you are . I'm in a big city and get dozens of FM stations. My 2009 has electric windows, headed seats, CD player, steering wheel controls, cruise control, so I'm not sure which model you have.

The scratchy plastic feels cheap but it could be a good compromise if the rest of the car is good

Thank you. I have a better idea of how this car is. I like the back seat room and the engine reliability and mpg. But I think I won't like the noise level, cheap feeling interior, harsh ride, and hopefully don't have to fix any random things like the ignition switch or windows. And the radio sounds disappointing. If I can get a cheap deal on one, I think it's certain a car I would like and I think it has decent safety rating.

Hi! The car is good in the winter. It has alot of torque so you don't need to go high in the rev range to move witch is practical in the snow bank. Plus it has alot of weight on the front axle witch either help. I do recommend ice tire for the car tho. I have some gt radial champiro ice pro on it witch help alot in the winter. In the end it's not a AWD so be carefull and take your time and if you have alot of snow like here in canada get ready to get stuck from time too time.

I'm not sure if I can find this car for 3 grand though! I assume you mean 3k CAD. I think the used car values aren't great right now, they're higher than before.
