Hyundai Elantra N Exhaust Valve Spring Upgrade Fixes Annoying Rattle

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I just heard for the first time a loud rattle coming from my 2022 Hyundai Elantra N exhaust. I knew this was a pretty common issue some owners have faced. MOK Racing graciously sent me an upgraded TORCON Exhaust Valve Spring. I'll walk you through this very simple install which completely eliminates that pesky exhaust rattle.

    Good thing you used the compressed air. All the debris overtime will wear out the spring over time. A lot of people just replace the spring and it doesn’t fix the rattle. Gotta clean it! I bought a spring while ago for whenever my valve decide it wants to start rattling lol

    Maybe this is why I hear a rattle sound from the exhaust under low throttle and speed. Might look into this more

    I almost wonder if all valved exhausts use the same type spring. I have a Remus Valvetronic on my F56 Cooper S and the spring looks identical to the one you just installed. Even the electric valve controller looks almost the same. Probably one company that supplies them all.

    Hey sorry for asking this question in a video that’s not really related but I’ve been watching you forge intake videos and finally ordered one for myself. I noticed that you live in an area that sees snow. Have you had any issues with the intake in snowy/rainy climates? Really appreciate it! Thanks!

    No problem, glad to help. No, I haven’t had any issues with snow or rain with my Forge intake. It’d basically be impossible for the filter to be submerged in order to have an issue with hydrolocking your engine with the filter being as high as it is in the engine compartment-that is unless you drove into a lake or something lol.

    How does this active exhaust after the muffler work to make pops I don’t get it?

  • @n-power-automotive

    @n-power-automotive

    4 күн бұрын

    When the car is in Normal and ECO mode, the flap inside the pipe is closed forcing the exhaust gases through the big muffler. When you put it in Sport or N-Mode, the flap is opened allowing the exhaust gases to also exit through the non-muffler side, which makes it significantly louder. I think the pops and crackles in N Mode are controlled by the ECU. I know when you get an aftermarket tune they’ll usually have an option for extra pops, so that’s what makes me think it’s the computer controlling it, not the active exhaust.

  • @cindysue5474
    @cindysue54746 күн бұрын

    One owner said to just unplug it and it will be louder because even in N mode it is not fully open not sure if that is true or not. I'm sorry but 50 bucks for a spring is crazy!

    What an absurd waste of money from Hyundai replacing the entire muffler and not just the spring....
