NOTE TO EVERYONE - This problem was the AMP in the trunk right side, not the head unit, found one in a junk yard for $50, works perfect!

Which amp did you buy

@shawnhatley6372 stock amp of a 2013, tho my car is a 2012
Can’t remember where, but the original stock GPS is a similar dongle that I found somewhere hidden on the drivers side but still external enough to function. Can just use that spot? Unfortunately the stock Nav/rear cam don’t seem to be compatible with any new modules. But these units effectively replace them and their OG functionality. Try Crutchfield, they can do the wiring for you with connectors to the original cabling. Essentially plug/play for you to install. Also custom instructions available. It’s the best option I’ve found, but they don’t ship internationally which sucks for me in Australia.
Looks like you need a canbus cable box for the steering wheel backup camera and equip amplifier

Thanks r b I'll check into this!
My 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited comes equipped with a factory backup camera, but it has a radio. Very odd to me and im not sure as to why. Any ideas?

The limited versions can come completely loaded or parchely loaded.
My limited didn’t come with a backup cam so this might work for me.

Yes, tho if you have the GPS you'll have that little hockey puck to deal with.
You can still use this unit but you will need an interface to use all of the features… fortunately enough I have a ‘13 GLS and the unit was in fact plug and play for me

What interface would that be?

All these opinions and no solutions, what is the harness and or module to make this plug and play, because to do this it's about ,800 USD and you need a new head unit and a 350usd module which is also the same cost as a head unit cool
Hey so if you sent this one back can you provide a link or video of the one you have now ? Compatible with the Hyundai elantra limited 2012

I put the stock unit back in which does not work. And I've been using my phone an Anker Soundcore Bluetooth Speaker. I have yet to see a plug in play unit for the Elantra Limited Without Frankensteining your car. If there's someone out there that has done this, please post the link for everyone to see.
It is not inexpensive but on my Ford Focus 2007 I went with the Sony XAV-9000ES and in my wife's Elantra 2014 the Sony XAV-AX6000, Crutchfield sells all the wiring you need to build yourself or they also sell it plug and play. Although it is not needed I did purchase the XM receivers separately so they are there for future use if needed. I keep my automobiles a long time so I have no issue with spending on a good upgrade here and there. They both run and drive like new and the Elantra got a new engine last year by Hyundai due to the piston slap issues these engines were having because of poor QC at the time. When it comes to automotive radios Sony is Sony, it works. The Ford had a Sony XAV-701HD since 2013, zero issues just became outdated but can be repurposed.

So much appreciated!!! Others too here will be checking this Sony out... thank you so much!!
The only thing I have to do is solder the wires then I’ll have my mechanic do it if he messes it up he owes me a new back up camera gps n antenna
Were you able to find a unit that worked with the limited edition? I have a 2013 limited Elantra and wanted to upgrade but reuse the factory camera and wiring.

In my research, I’m told this will work with the factory camera. The camera wiring is in the factory harness

@@mikemolino7150 What about the backup wire ( to trigger the camera) and gps?
@mikemolino7150
Жыл бұрын
Not sure about the trigger wire. It’s in the harness also. I think it would just work through their harness conversion. GPS won’t work though but I think you could bury their gps behind the radio so it’s not in sight. I’m still emailing with them.

I looked at what came in the package, cables, etc. The only match up/plug n play were the connections to the amp/speakers. No plug n play with backup cam, antenna, or gps.

You can use what's there without cutting. Would just require you look at the wiring diagram and pin out to the ones you need.
