Got the elevate and it was our first Honda. We owned the 1st gen Creta before this. The Elevate is a no nonsense and more reliable car. The seats are super comfortable and the brown colour scheme will be easier to maintain in the long run. The infotainment of the Creta with the wireless connectivity is as smooth as my beamer’s! NOTE: the panaromic sunroof is the most useless feature in a car.

The review is full of contrasting statements, like Creta has sunshades for hot days, but there is praise for panoramic sunroof which will be a pain every single day by letting in more heat; or that while Creta has torque convertor like transmission and Elevate is called out for rubber-band effect, but Elevate is faster in sprint and in-gear acceleration; or Creta has plusher interiors but no soft touch surfaces like Elevate, which are supposed to be the symbol of plushness; and so on. To me it seems to be a ploy to push Creta as winner, despite the fact top model costs close to 2.5 lakhs more, and in a sense one will have to pay dearly for the features which if one adds up won't account for the value delivered.

However, I am with them. See, Honda is too complacent. Doesn't even feature a turbo engine here in india when it has them. They must up their ante. Even the obstinate German carmakers are changing themselves to suit the Indian sensibilities so Honda should follow suit too.

I don’t understand. We haven’t faced a heating issue with the panoramic sunroof on a Creta but did on Grand Vitara and reported it. The sunshade comes handy in the early mornings or evenings when the sun hits you directly. Please look at an Elevate and a Creta in the same setting and tell me you find the Honda more premium inside. Soft touch plastics is a miss but the overall look and feel is way superior. As for the gearbox, the Creta doesn’t have that wild rev increase that other CVTs exhibit. What am i to say? The Elevate is faster but does that mean its automatically free from the rubberband effect? Also, i have said repeatedly the Elevate is great value. However, not everyone is shopping for value. And the extra spend does get you a whole lot more. I hope this clears some of your doubts

I have an elevate- even when we ordered it last june, the koreans had better features and the europeans had noticeably more power and driver engagement. We bought it because it’s a practical choice for someone planning to use it for more than 6 years- we got a 10 year warranty plan for 30k as opposed to say 3 years after extension for the kushaq. The 1.5 na 4cyl is reasonably reliable even though I wouldn’t call it the most peppy, especially when paired with the cvt. The service costs are not that bad and being a honda and also sharing a lot of mechanicals with the city, parts shouldn’t break and even if they do, it wouldn’t be as expensive. I also like the ergonomic cabin and the lack of haptic hvac and all those gimmicks, 220 mm ground clearance is reassuring in Kerala’s atrocious roads. My heart wanted a manual honda city but my family wanted an automatic crossover, and to be fair it was one of the most comfortable in the class especially for rear passengers along with the skoda which also handled better. Safety is untested but it shouldn’t be like a suzuki, I hope, so, yeah, team elevate

Understanding what the customer wants (not needs) and providing that is a much easier and more effective route than educating them to do otherwise. Honda used to get this spot-on (Eg. All gens of City, Jazz, Amaze, CRV, Accord) till a few years ago. However, that seems to have changed after both the generations of Honda Civic (one of the world best sellers) flopped in India. Hope they get back to the older days' glory with the Elevate :)

This seems unfair verdict at the end. I own ZX CVT Elevate and I can vouch that it's the most VFM in terms of pure Petrol NA variant. You praise about Creta but fail to understand it's top end is almost 2.5Lac costlier than Elevate only for those gimmicks like Panoramic sunroof etc. Note, ZX CVT has Level 2 ADAS which is big positive for Honda. I don''t care about fancy and gimmicky electronics which is bound to cause issues in the long term. Things I wish Elevate had: 1) 360 camera 2) Ventilated seats. 3) Better NVH insulation (people who compare about too much engine noise in Honda forget that it's the Ivtec characteristic and even City/Amaze makes similar noise.) 4) Hybrid option which could have killed all the GV and Hyryder bookings for sure.

    1. 360 camera can be installed in the OEM Alpine radio 2. Not required however a must have in Delhi NCR but the air conditioning is appropriate unlike VW or Skoda's 1000cc Taigun / Kushaq that are plagued with AC problems 3. Roar of a iVTEC is on a different level 4. Hybrid battery goes kaput in a few years and requires replacement 5. Elevate has Level 1 Adas. It does not have a Radar sensor and relies on traditional camera

Spot on review, test drove the Elevate and found it to busy and noisy for my liking: it was a deal breaker for me, more sound insulation around the firewall, floor and wheel wells and boot would have reduced it considerably, I was driving a Honda City CVT then found the dynamics akin to a jacked up City. The rear bench was also not as comfy as my the Honda City my family members said. Actually no one was asking Honda to build an SUV with strict price restrictions: but Honda has built an Elevate to a price and cost cutting shows. I've bought a Kia Carens which is so peaceful and hush on the insides. I didn't TD a Creta as my need necessitated a 7 seater more than 5. My TD of the Elevate was rather underwhelming. The midsize SUV segment is more about refinement and not much about price: people may not bat an eyelid to stretch a few lakhs for the better product and features and I can say Honda has missed out big time on the Elevate in the NVH department. I must say that Kia makes some of the best interiors in this segment...Panoramic sunroof is not a miss for the customer: it's a blessing in our hot Indian summers...

And I understand already that panoramic sunroof is best in bigger SUVs, but for mid size SUVs and below, a single pane sunroof is just right. Functionality, elegant looks, practicality are something Elevate offers and it is something I would prefer it as it undercuts the Creta by a huge margin. Doesn't matter if it misses a lot of frills, but atleast ventilated seats, 360 degree camera would have been great. It's an absolute shame that for 18 lakhs, that large 10.25 inch infotainment still doesn't support wireless apple carplay and android auto in Creta

Elevate's engine is way too rough, many would say it's performance oriented but the truth is that it sounds like a 1.0 wagonr engine.

Many KZreadrs compare the Elevate to the Creta, but they overlook that buyers with a Creta budget often choose the Creta. I'd prefer if they compared the Elevate to the 3xO, Nexon, Sonnet, and Venue. While these are different segments, their top variants are similarly priced, with mid variants only differing by 1-1.5 lakhs. The Creta and Elevate have a 4 lakh price gap. Buyers in this range often have budget constraints and prioritize value and driving experience over the specific SUV category. I personally went to buy a Venue N6 and ended up with the Elevate V CVT-R, which was only 40k more and much better.

Need to talk about the Cretas back seat, specifically its recline angle. In my opinion, its so small that most buyers would just recline it once and forget all about it, except when you need that little bit of additional storagein the boot. What do you guys feel? Also, my personal choice would be the Elevate if I were to go for a naturally aspirated engine. In theother segments it's a pity Hondadoes not have an offering. Design wise, while the Elevate looks imposing from the front, I like this version of the Creta better. The panoramic sun roof is the most useless feature you can have in any car when driven in a tropical climate like India. Hill stations, ok. Other places like the one I live (Kerala), 4 months rain, 6 months of heat and 2 months of tolerable heat. When do I use it? The City's hybrid should have been replicated in the Elevate during launch itself. Thats a sure miss.

If you can, please pass on the message to Honda to include at least 3 things in Elevate : powered seats both sides, illuminated switches and gear, front parking sensors at least if not 360° camera....it will be difficult to beat. Of course a turbo charged engine or hybrid will take it to another level.

Today, I had my second Honda Elevate test drive of the top model, the CVT ZX. However, I must say that it doesn't feel like a true Honda product; it only bears the Honda name. On rough roads, there is excessive cabin noise, especially in the back. The cabin is spacious enough and can be considered the best in its segment. However, the excessive noise is a major issue. The suspension needs significant improvement compared to market competitors like the Creta and Seltos, as well as accelerator noise while pressing the race pedal. I tried both slow and aggressive driving, but the result was the same. I'm not sure if the test drive model I used had specific issues, but I tried two test drives from different dealerships because the overwhelmingly positive reviews intrigued me. I have to wonder why the Creta and Seltos have had such peak sales performance. While I need a family vehicle for the long term, I don't want to rely solely on a brand name. I test drove the Hyryder, Seltos, Creta, Nexon, and Elevate, all in the petrol segment. However, I was disappointed by their price-to-performance ratio. This segment is particularly confusing for buyers in the 15 lakh price range. In my experience, the Grand Vitara is cheap market garbage for such a premium segment of 15-20 lakhs. I'm still confused about what to buy. If anyone has any good experiences with a good vehicle under 15 lakhs in May 2024, please let me know; it would be a great help.

Play music. Go for damping which may reduce 20% of noise and make music with bass feel good. This is what I am planning to do bro. My other thought is, I will get familiar to that sound once i start riding it very often or atleast more than 10k kms. If you are a person who hang out with friends having better nvh cars, you will keep thinking about elevate nvh. Else you won't!

I did test ride on both Elevate ZX CVT & Creta Sx Tech ... These are my observations Driving pick up is good in honda Driving view is more commandable in Elevate I can clearly hear engine noise in 80 speed itself .. Remaining all old school fashion style... Create on the other hand provides Engine refinement is awesome The cabin in so calm , except our music & talks Driving experience is very cool...not very quickest but it will be almost very next to elevate.. The look & feel in create is far a way better than Elevate Music is great.. Rear seats are so comfort & spacious

Can someone help with my query. I had honda city petrol variant two cars one after another for 12 years and I was travelling 100 kms per day for last 8 years. I sold them almost 6 years apart. Now, I want to purchase a hybrid four wheeler. I would be travelling 60 kms in city teaffic per day. Wish to move to a hybrid car/SUV but dont like Vitara or Hyryder. Another Hybrid City would be too boring. Can someons suggest me what I should opt for in automatic transmission hybrid car/SUV segment. My budget is 25-28 lakhs. I am also fine to drive a sedan or SUV petrol automatic provided it gives me 15-16 kmpl in heavy traffic of city. I need a high end car/SUV, around 25-28 Lakhs, mostly driven by driver. A recliner seat at the back would be a delight.

Elevate has better ride quality & offers plenty of space. CVT Automatic variants of Elevate are very low in price. Elevate is a true VFM product in its segment

No one is speaking about Post maintenance after buying a car. Honda is a lot expensive in terms of parts and service when compared with Hyundai. This will make a lot of sense as everytime when car goes for service as it will Hurt your pocket. And next petrol in only option in Elevate. But in Creta they have diesel, due to this a lot of them are turning towards creta for Fuel efficiency.

doesn't matter a lot if the braking distance is the best in the segment. Also, braking is very smooth on Elevate. But I agree with 4 disk brake Elevate could have theoretically the best brakes in sub-40 lacs car.
