Prince Albert (Queen Victoria's husband) already issued an apology. The question is - how many apologies are required? And the UK took out a loan of (in today's money) £250billion to stop slavery - it took us 180 years to pay off. IF you paid tax in the Uk up until 2015, you would have contributed to clearing this debt. Nobody ever demands reparations from Portugal, or Spain, or Saudi Arabia I notice.

Have they forgotten how much he was bullied as a youngster at school then as a teen by the press, blamed by the world for everything that went wrong (unfairly) during his 1st marriage and afterwards, ridiculed for his eco ideas. Yup think King Charles might have more than a little personal insight into the impact of trial by media and media as well as the impact it has on personal mental health. I met Princess Beatrice on a flight years ago, when she was still with her old American B friend. She was ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!!! Nobody else knew who she was, she had her security sitting in her seats in business class...and she sat in economy. She was genuinely nice, funny as heck...and held no airs....as the 5th heir in line to the throne at that time. I have always admired her ever since. PS...her guy from Sotland Yard, sitting up in biz class...was also a "hoot" He was quite a charactrr as well 😊😊😊

Look, Richard, is slightly right. And slightly wrong. Here in America - we've forgiven the British Empire for taxing us without representation, for killing our countrymen, for not allowing our independence - but then again so much time and diplomacy has gone on since 1776. Not that much time has gone on in the African countries. And by the way, the biggest racism in the world today is the flight of African capital - and the King has yet to speak about that. So if he has to apologize for 10 years, that's a drop in the bucket for what they've suffered. You can't be forgiven without being contrite.

I think a lot of credit for Princess Beatrice's new look should go to the Italian flair of her husband. Marriage has given her more confidence and stability especially after the fallout of her father's problems.

Princess Beatrice's more selective and elegant style choices reflect a maturing character. I'm so glad she's found such a great stylist and that she's representing herself so well. Her coronation dress was one of my favorites, too!

Thanks for the commentary. As an American, I depend on my idealism regarding Kate and William for relief from our home woes. They have a way, along with their children, of relieving anxiety and looking like there is hope around the corner. I've read that Catherine and Mary of Denmark are on very friendly terms and share an interest in similar social issues, as well as a personal interest in sports. It's often been noticed how similar they look too...almost like sisters. The British royals have always seemed to be slightly apart from the European royals, though behind the scenes it may well be quite a different scenario.

Love Mary! She was from Tazmania but learned to speak Danish while engaged to the Crown Prince. She rides, runs and keeps herself very up to date and fit. She is warm and kind like Catherine. ❤

Mary, Catherine and Maxima of the Netherlands get along very well. Especially, Mary and Maxima are best friends, very close. Catherine is in real good company with these two Consorts also of commoner origins but highly educated. At least Catherine and Maxima (Economist) are University graduates.

It's always funny people make such a big deal of Mary learning Danish. It's one of the easiest languages uou xan learn as an English speaker and it's just one language. Think Maxima speaks something like 5, the Danish queen 5 as well, thd Swdish one 6 etc

@@anainesgarciaarango3420 I suppose Mary and Maxima are from the same generation, both come from other countries and had to learn a new language and adapt to a new culture in their 30s. Catherine’s path has been different.

Mary has a double degree in law and commerce. She didn’t practice law but worked in higher echelons of commerce before marrying Prince Frederick.

Always a pleasure watching this show. I agree, Princess Beatrice looks more beautiful now. Not only her clothes and hats are more becoming, but also her lighter eye makeup suits her fair skin better. I think her Italian husband may have given her a few tips.

I heard an historian speaking on a documentary series about Royalty and in a nutshell he said that Royals HAVE to stick together because they are in such a unique position that no one else truly understands what their lives are like. That there aren’t many people they can truly trust and because other people always WANT something from them and that’s why they’re so close, the gruesome twosome excepted.

The British Royals don’t just attend events with the European Royals, we also see them attend events with the Royals in Jordan and other countries. This is more reflective of the multi- culturalism in the UK and the Commonwealth .

Excellent programme this with Jo provoking Richard at every opportunity and he sure knows his stuff, I mean I know that's his subject but he seems to know about who's got what idiosyncrasy, what they eat and don't, everything there is.

Beatrice has benefitted from having Edo. Too bad she is a friend of Harry snd Meghan. As is Eugenie.

After seeing the way Eugenie pushed Catherine on the steps after a church service and the smirk on her face I find her despicable, a nasty little critter! Catherine was very poised and handled the situation very well.

Not sure trotting out the money-hungry York contingent would be wise. Pretty sure the holiday loving acorns don't stray very far from their parental trees.

Kiki-Kauai, Megain and Harry didn’t show us how important they are. They showed us how important THEY THINK they are.

I like Richard's idea of European royals banding together. It would benefit royalty in general. I watch news on all the royals regularly. Oh, the jewels! They all do such good works so it's very positive. Very good program today.

Princess Leonora, Princess of Asturias, future queen of Spain, entering the Spanish Army - this kind of story about European royals would be very nice to see.

Princess Leonor, not Leonora. Leonor, Su Alteza Real, La Princesa de Asturias. She started her three year military training this year; she will receive formal.military training in all three Armed Forces. Also, her younger sister, La Infanta Sofía, entered her first year in the same Baccalaureate school in Wales her sister attended the last two years. Sofia is also a very interesting young European Royal.

@@carmenl163 She‘s in the Army. I doubt Spanish Army cadets cab run off to birthday parties. She is a serious soldier and will be a serious Queen.

Despite the rainy, dreary day, "Palace Confidential" always delivers. Great show! Thank you, Jo and Richard.

I think Richard is right, it would be nice to see William, Catherine and the children mixing with the European Royals. I'm all for it, tell Richard to put a word into the palace please.

So much pain in the world, so Meghan and Harry take a private plane to visit a luxury Island, which happens to have a Soho House hotel.

I can never tell whether Jo is Harkle-friendly or just doing her best to be balanced.

I understand Jo has to play devils advocate (literally & figuratively lol) but she does irritate me a bit when she continues nonstop excuses for the dastardly duo🤡

If Eugenie and Beatrice are cozy with Harry and Meghan why would anyone trust them. He has agreed to do more books and Meghan keeps hinting that she will also.

I don’t think Beatrice and Eugenie are as close as H&M and their PR would have you believe. Perhaps at one time but not after the Jubilee, Funeral, Coronation, the Spare book tour. H threw their grandparents and their dad under the bus. The York’s are loyal to their family and H overstepped in a horrible way.

I don't think the Youk girls are as close as they were.... we all know MM likes to keep Harry isolated so she's in control, and she was pally with Eugeine when she was trying to catch Harry in her Web.... but I think even they are awake to her toxic vibe now!! Only Harry is left steeped in her poison!!
