Hyperpro Suspension Review on a KTM 390 Adventure.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I review the Hyperpro progressive springs matched up with the Hyperpro premium shock with a progressive spring on my KTM 390 Adventure. I have about 7k miles on this setup and the difference in control, ride comfort and feel of the bike make it worth the cost. Below you find links to the United States distributor of Hyperpro suspension products and the two videos I made regarding the installation of the springs and the shock.

    I enjoyed your review. Because of you I installed the front Hyperpro springs. I was easy to install since you demoed it in your video. Might go cheap on the rear and get the basic shock from Hyperpro. I am jumping on the band wagon to get you to do a video on the fork extenders. I installed them then later removed it. I like that little bit of fork rake/trail it provided. However, I felt that the wiring harness on the right side was to taunt. I am concerned about chaffing the wire bundle. I look forward to review from you.

    Totally agree on this Matt! I do have almost the same setup: Hyperpro progressive front springs, but I got the (cheaper) adjustable emulsion rear shock. The main goal is for me to lowering the bike, but keep -correction- improved the overall handling of the bike. It rides so much smoother and also hard breaking is fully controllable and actually gives shorter break distances on the road. I haven't ride off-road yet, but I'm confident it will do excellent. • @Ringer1982

    Hi Matt, I'm currently looking for videos about the Hyperpro suspension because I'm thinking about replacing mine. The stock suspension on my bike is actually quite good, but as you said it's a pain in the butt to udjast the preload of the rear shock and after initial setup I've never adjusted it again... Now my bike is at 24k on the odometer and the oil in the fork needs replacement, first 15k the suspention feeled nice and stable but now the oil in the fork is degraded and the rebound adjustment can't compensate for the difference in the oil properties anymore, and I started to feel a boat on waves effect when cornering. So I'm thinking to either just replace the oil in the fork or to also upgrade the rear shock, because I want to have the hydrawlic preload udjuster. The main concern for me is the price. I have 2 questions: 1. Did you select a standard weight suspension which rated from 70 to 100 or did you order the custom weight rating? What is your weight? My own weight is 80, but with gear it will probably be like 95 and with luggage I think it's more than a 100. Do you know what they meant by the rating from 70 to 100? Is it with or without gear? 2. Do you know if the rear shock can be serviced? I don't want to buy an expensive rear shock every 24k, so if it's possible to service it I will probably invest more in the shock, if not I will either buy a cheaper one or maybe even keep my stock one.

  • @advmatt

    @advmatt

    Жыл бұрын

    OK, there are a lot questions in here. You need to get the seals replaced in your forks. When the seals are replaced the oil will be replaced but it is also a good time to upgrade the springs. I am using a progressive spring, which works great. The Hyperpro shock can be serviced. I also have a progressive spring on the shock. Since the springs are progressive you don't have to be as concerned about the spring rate. I weigh about 95kg as well, but with all my gear I am around 115kg on the bike. The shock has performed really well. The Hyperpro comes with a five year warranty and mine came with one service included, which I plan to use this fall. Hope this helps.

    @@advmatt Thanks for the reply! So as I understood you bought the suspension with the standard rating of 70-100 and it fits you fine. It's great that the rear shock can be serviced, I'll probably do the upgrade then. Regarding the progressive springs I will probably get them for the front fork too, but to be honest my stock front suspension is fine, it only needs the oil change to perform well again.

    @@Ringer1982 when you change the shock you will really notice the front forks with the stock springs are not up to the task. I recommend changing the fork springs when the shock is changed to keep the suspension front to rear balanced.
