Hyperkalemia - 11 drugs that increase your potassium levels
Drugs like ACE inhibitors, ARBs, Beta blockers, calcinurein inhibitors and so many other types of drugs can induce hyperkalemia. They can raise the potassium levels by two mechanisms. One is by directly effecting the function of kidney and another is by inhibition of aldosterone secretion or action. Hyperkalemia is a significant medical condition which should be immediately treated. It may result in various symptoms like shortness of breath, muscle weakness, fatigue and fatal cardiac arrhythmias.

what about the Beta Blocker metoprolol? I have been taking 50 MG daily for about 3 years and 25 MG daily 7 years before that. Recently had a PSVT or Afib episode that left me with an irregular heartbeat and palpitations. My blood potassium level is right around 4.9 to 5.3.
So CCB like amlodhipine is not one of the drugs that increase potassium level or hyperkalemia?
Good video but a little hard to understand
i have bad muscle weakness and fatigue. They switched drugs and took me off lisinopril, but i still have symptoms. Also, lisinopril gave me so much dry mouth that i lost a number of teeth. they also want to send me for blood work to see if there is any organ damage.

My mom's blood potassium is also showing 5.5 she is taking numerous pills for blood pressure to diabetics and even cholesterol which she started recently and after that potassium came up high .

lisinopril can raise your potassium, need to stay away from potassium rich foods like bananas and potatoes! There are more, look them up!😲😲
I use amphetamines and i have supernatural body odor i am so depressed

Need to stay away from potassium rich foods! There is a drug that will bind it and you poop it out but only short term use because of side affects!😲 Sodium polystyrene sulfonate!
