I’m praying for everyone dealing with this problem. The drooling started when I was pregnant 19 years ago and and it comes back every time I get sick with a cold. It is HORRIBLE and you are not alone! If anyone knows a solution please share. Something I do to ease the drooling is I keep something absorbent in my mouth like crackers and rice cakes to help.

It would be unlikely that hCG (only present during pregnancy) is the cause for your hypersalivation as you are not pregnant, there might be another cause for your hypersalivation. A doctor's appointment is recommended!

I don't exactly have this problem but when I like a guy I tend to involuntarily smile without ever closing my mouth, meaning saliva pools in my mouth and in a few really unfortunate cases, I've literally drooled over a cute boy. I don't even realize I'm doing it until after the fact. I'm a tomboy so I'm naturally unfeminine, but this is even more unladylike than I want to be. I flirt by putting my hands on my hips and keeping them there (hands on hips from me is NOT an act of aggression, I ONLY do it when I'm flirting, I cross my arms when I want to look tough) and pairing that with a perpetual smile. Is there a way I can stop doing this? I think I've grossed out every cute boy I've tried to flirt with. Or maybe I might luck out and meet someone who doesn't find it gross. It's not so bad during the first five or six minutes but after between ten and fifteen minutes I'm pretty much reduced to just saying "yeah" over and over again, because that's the only word I can say when my mouth is that full without making a mess (and even then, there's no guarantee).

Hello Syed, we are unable to recommend any drug therapy or conventional management of Hyperemesis, because we cannot guarantee that it would be effective. The best recommendation we have for her if she cannot come to us for treatment, is that she gets hospitalized immediately. If it is diagnosed to be severe or critical, then she must either terminate the pregnancy or have an induced labor. If not severe, then she should be under close monitoring until labor. We still hope that she can come to us for treatment, which lasts about 1-2 weeks of hospitalization, after which she will be free to go home. Hope this answered your question.

I've had excessive saliva my whole life. I don't think it builds up unusually fast, I smile all the time so my face has kind of stayed that way, or at least a smile is my neutral expression (it takes effort to keep my mouth closed with lips together and it pops back into a smile after a minute), smiling all the time makes it harder to swallow. I have to wait until my mouth is so full that I struggle to speak clearly to swallow it, and I can only slurp it like soup. About once every five minutes I slurp it so I can swallow it, but I'm never able to swallow more than half of it, so my mouth is always at least half-full. If I look down for too long, I end up drooling. When I have my head tilted up, if I'm not careful I end up gurgling (happens far more often than I'd like to admit).

It's made some funny moments though, like when I was goofing around with friends imitating Alice Deejay singing "Better Off Alone" live when she'd open her mouth wide between every line. I ended up drooling so much you could call it "Ankhara Falls" near the end. It was really funny.

It might be better to carry around a towel, but really you should see a doctor so that you won't have to go through that constantly. There are medications like anticholinergics that will dry it up somewhat so you don't have to just live with it. If you smile all the time involuntarily you might have a muscular or neuromuscular issue causing all this. I have been drooling more after I reached the age of 60 (mostly when lying down or sleeping but sometimes now at times when up and awake) and it has gradually gotten worse. It is beginning to get on my nerves, so am about to see a doctor myself.

I don't know if I have excessive saliva or just don't swallow enough. My mouth is often pretty full, it's worst on a hot sunny day when I'm squinting in the sun, my saliva gets thick and gungy and I tend to go so long without swallowing it if I'm not careful it starts dripping out. Or if I have a crush on a guy I tend to forget to swallow. It's embarrassing being a grown woman, 22 years old, turning 23 in June, about to get my engineering degree, I'm supposed to be smart but I have less saliva control than a teething toddler. I'm known as the girl who always wears a raincoat, and some people are like "Jamie probably wears her raincoat all day to catch her saliva" (there's no connection, I love my raincoat so I hate drooling on it).

So I can currently pregnant (1st time) and I have been experiencing the worst morning sickness EVER! my doctors don’t seem to help as much I have not been able to eat ANYTHING Only drink water (small amounts) because when I drink too much water I throw it up immediately.. anything I try to eat I throw it up, I have been throwing up severely to the point where I am throwing up what I believe to be stomach acid, it has gotten worse , it goes now from being green to a yellow bitter taste, I am so uncomfortable with my body and exhausted and restless.. I have to sleep with a shirt or towel in my mouth because I have been accumulating way too much saliva.. I honestly would say I could fill up a whole cup of saliva (it’s that bad) they gave me medication to help me be able to keep food inside my stomach but I still feel like I cannot eat comfortably I can tell ! My stomach wants to throw up the food but I won’t because of the medicine. Now that I am eating I have not been able to process my food properly so I have been taking laxatives just so I can use the bathroom. I feel like all the foods I am putting in to my body disgust me now because (when I was throwing it all up) the smell reminded me of a dead smell like rotten fish.. it now makes everything unappealing for me to eat but I have to eat right ? Baby needs nutrition.. I am just so stressed out that the doctors here in US don’t find the root problem and actually tell me what is wrong with me . Literally my doctor said “your liver is angry” like ok??!!! Ignore all my symptoms that I told you and don’t find the root problem and charge me 4000$+ just to tell me “my liver is angry, do you drink alcohol?” (Which I don’t I am not an alcohol drinker) I just wish to stop salivating so much it’s so stressful I even thought about having an abortion but I don’t want to since I have suffered 3 miscarriages in the past, none of my past pregnancy ever made it past the 1st trimester but again I NEVER felt like this before in my pregnancies only this one and it is my first trimester still have a long way to go and I am just so depressed 😔
