Great review guys. I like the bike, I too think it's a good starter bike. A 125 in a bobber style, that's great. Wouldn't hesitate in buying and riding it for daily commute. Ride safe, cheers!

A very fair and accurate review. I am in my late fifties and bought one of these for a year to get myself back into biking. I LOVE it. It has a size and presence that most 125's lack, it's a chunky, really attractive machine which is larger than almost any other 125. I'm 5'11", and the bike is comfortable. The V-power delivery is amazingly smooth, forgiving and relaxing; a friend of mine has a Honda 125 and it feels like riding a hairdryer compared with the Hyosung. It's well made, too -- much better than most rattly Chinese 125's -- Hyosung is a big engineering concern in South Korea, land of KIA, Hyundai and Samsung. I love the bike and highly recommend it. I'll be trading it in soon for something bigger, but I will look back nostalgically on my year with this lovely, solid-feeling bike.

Hi I Live in Spain and I'm 70 Years of age this year I Brought my Bike a Year ago and after a year of Riding my Bike Most Days as we have with Great Weather all year round The Bike has Preformed Excellent Christmas Time I Treated myself to some Saddle Bags from The Indian Motorcycles shop So I Resprayed the Tank with The Indian Scout Bobber Badge This Bike Has Turned Head's and Is Great for Parking and Going to the Shops. Also with Disc Breaking Front and Rear that Break at the Same Time, An Excellent Bike for me as For the Speed Well I Just Like to Cruise at about 40 to 50 miles an Hour that way I can take it easy and Enjoy the Ride. @@MrDarcy-OlMan Hi Guys, One thing I Forgot to mention, That When I Brought my Bike I Had Two Seats a Single and Double, So off came the Double and on went the Single (true Bobber Style ) The reason more people ride a bike in Spain Is Simple Less Traffic and the Weather also the Roads are Great not like The UK with all the Potholes. I Lived on the Isle of Wight and the Roads are really Bad. I moved to Spain about Six years ago and as I'm Retired I've got plenty of time to pursue my Passion s Carp fishing, and I'm a Artist ( I'm a Pin up Artist , Sexy Lady's ) I'm Painting All the Masters for myself Between Commission's ( Caravaggio ,Rembrandt, Dali, and Constable ) Etc Etc. I would go for the Hyosung as its almost clone of Honda VT125 shadow as where the highway star 125 from AJS is really untested as it was brought out to replace 3 of AJS cruiser types the DD125 the Daytona and the EOS125. which all had their problems problems mainly with their electrics with the exception of the DD125 which reached the MK4 version where AJS had ironed almost all of the issues out of this model then discontinued it for the highway star. AJS also doesn't have a vtwin engine ive ridden both the highway star and the aquila and the highway star is underpowered for its wet weight.or consider finding a used honda VT125 shadow for sale as the owners of these bikes generally keep them in very good condition and if well looked after keep a good resale value when you chose to move up to a big bike.

I can’t help but wonder how Hyosung can still make a cracking V twin 125 and get it through euro4 emmisions and the other manufacturers can’t. We all know the answer: it’s all about cost and most people move on from the learner legal bikes fairly sharpish. What if though Hyosung changed that engine around a little, made it a long stroke V twin 125 tuned more for a steady 50-55 mph without having to ring its neck everywhere. Surely then you would appeal to young and old. A torquey great sounding 125 which actually feels relaxed at those speeds. Get to work Hyosung. You’ve got a gap in the market to fill and with that combination you’ll smash it out the park! Just my thoughts Scoots

Thank you for another interesting review. In my opinion, this bike looks pretty good (for a 125) and offers good value for money. It is a good bike for 16-18 year old adolescents, well suited to learn how to ride a motorcycle. But personally, i cannot Imagine seasoned adults on this particular bike. It would appear some kind of ridicoulous in my opinion. A small criticism: The "soundtrack" of this review was really annoying for me. It was the perfect choice for the "electric chair" you reviewed a few days ago - but not for a bike, that represents a chopper / bobber / cruiser- style. Metal would suite much better . had so many problems with it. 2 years on and it sits in the garage, still haven't finished my payments for it. it is a nice bike but it suffers from a few things. wiring is one, scarce or non-existent spare parts, no shop in my area are even considering looking at fixing it. had so many wiring issues, which I managed to fix.... now it doesn't start at all. finally found a suitable battery, but I'm sceptical it will ever start again... mirrors are crap, have to be replaced once you buy the bike, as you can't see anything in them, no matter how tall or wide you are. right leg uncomfortable due to that async air cover thing. love/ hate relationship with her tbh..... but for close to 4k from new, to be already out of service after 2 years is not a lot of return for your investment. I will go back to the classic japanese marauder, shadow or intruder etc, as at least you know what to expect.... anyone buying a 2 year old Hyosung Gv125S? only 2900 miles on it, looks and feels like new!

@@pb222221 it seems the problems are more common on GT models than the GV models, which is strange, considering they all have more or less the same parts. I guess you just won the 'Hyosung lottery' ;) My 03 GT125 Comet has pretty much every problem imaginable despite being reasonably well kept and having only 23 000km on it. And I've heard similar stories by other owners of the gt125/250 bikes.

It doesn't really matter. No 125 will do highway speeds comfortable but all of them will do the legal limit on smaller roads.
