For my backyard renovation I had the same guy who did my front yard hydroseeding two years ago come back and do my backyard. This video shows how I prepared my lawn to get it ready for the seeding and the hydroseed application process. Also in this video he gives me instructions on how to care for my hydroseeded lawn and we also talk about some myths about hydroseeding with some pros and cons compared to sod.
Much of the advice he gives is good for anyone interested in what it takes to prepare for and take care of a hydro seeded lawn. But if you are in Utah and are looking for a Hydroseed company, Hydrolawn is definitely a good way to go! (not a paid endorsement)

Most informational video I’ve seen ever in regards to hydroseeding. I live in central California here in the valley. I’ve had my home for over 23 years and have the worst. The worst landscaping skills. Thanks for sharing this video.

Yeah, Joe is great. I’ve had him do work for me twice and he’s always great to educate to make sure I know how to take care of everything. I’m glad he let me film his advice and share.

Couldn’t ever go that short on my lawn. Tall fescue is where it’s at! Maybe it’s just a Tennessee thing tho. Love having my lawn green all year

It was about $1100 for 3k, elite KBG.
It made me nervous to see it getting dirty on the wall and wall. Is it easy to clean? I am planning to use it in my brand newly built house... Don´t want to damage the painting...

I was a little nervous about it too. It washed right off, though. Not a problem at all. Even after it dried a little.

all pigments used in the hydroseeding are biodegradable and water soluble, so even a little rain would have washed it clean
Does it wash off the fence and house easily?? Looks very messy….

Not sure about the per acre rate, but it was about $1,100 for about 3,00 square feet. Elite KBG

No. It washes right off. Even if it stays on for a while, it leaves no trace.
Will it grow on the fence if you water it?

No, it was a good amount. There is a fiber that’s included in the spray that adds something to retain moisture and help the seed germinate in, so it looks like a lot but it’s not all seed.

That contract is a joke! Water in the evening heavy soaked over night then let dry out during the day makes the seed dig in

Well, it worked well the last time I had him do it. It might be because it’s hot in summer and dry, but also you don’t want to water so much that it washes the seed mix away. I’d be interested in seeing a comparison. This is the only way I’ve done it.
