Warning
Hydrofluoric acid (HF) is a corrosive and toxic acid that can cause serious burns and even death. Poisoning can occur readily through exposure of skin or eyes, or when inhaled or swallowed. Symptoms of exposure to hydrofluoric acid may not be immediately evident, and this can provide false reassurance to victims, causing them to delay medical treatment.Despite having an irritating odour, HF may reach dangerous levels without an obvious odour r. HF interferes with nerve function, meaning that burns may not initially be painful. Accidental exposures can go unnoticed, delaying treatment and increasing the extent and seriousness of the injury. Symptoms of HF exposure include irritation of the eyes, skin, nose, and throat, eye and skin burns, rhinitis, bronchitis, pulmonary edema and bone damage

I'm going to guess not. 2 reasons: HF would probably oxidize nitric acid first, and also, fluorine doesn't form oxoions.

@@AussieChemist Some guys choose to wear the minimum, but the fumes can smell quite a bit, so I'm all about the supplied air hood. The recent exposures actually caused management to mildly increase mandated PPE. I stand under the shower with the rain suit on when dealing with the bath, but there must be trace amounts of acid that remain, right? I try to avoid touching the exterior of my PPE as much as possible. There are stories about how it used to be done and I can tell you that no amount of money could make me take that sort of risk. We usually have 20 or 50 percent concentration, depending of application. Any more requires robots, though I have never been to the place where they do that.
