Just bought a ram and lines from surplus center, and a rebuild kit from WTOR. Will be tapping my steering box in a couple weeks. Might video it. There isn't very much on this subject for the JK's. I even struggled finding info on how to really tell if you have a delphi or the newer Chinese gear box.

Your stock steering setup is designed to be used with the stock sized tires. So when the tires much bigger than stock, the stock system struggles to turn the wheels. Hydro assist or full hydro just makes your steering much stronger and able to move bigger tires.

That being said, putting a hydro system on a stock vehicle will make the steering feel extremely light, which is usually not a desired effect

I think there was a video about it a while ago. Anyone can be on Bleepin Jeep if you are able to create a useful how-to vid that hasnt already been covered, or you have a better video than what is already up. IIRC Matt (main host/ channel owner) will screen the video and give you a cut of the ad revenue if he decides it is up to BleepinJeep standards. I though about doing one for my motor swap, but its enough of a pain to do it, much less trying to do it and film it in a way to show others how to do the same.

Duncan Czeizinger I had no issues with a 3" lift and normal transfer case height

Not with a 3" lift. I recently installed one of the Rough Country 3" lift kits on my 2000 XJ and no issues with drive line angles at all. T Case drop comes into play at 4" plus along with slip yoke eliminator and a whole lot of other things! :) Hope this helps!
