I think there are some testing questions. The anvils have the same basic overall shape, but the bridge shape of the soviet anvil's base should have a distinct advantage in resisting top-down pressure, yes? I'm not a physicist, but I believe the arched shape of the soviet anvil's base is a significant advantage.

Interesting stuff. What do you know? Tiny Soviet anvil = good quality.
Russia has the highest quality mini anvils bar none. If you plan on buying a mini anvil to support 50 tons of downward force, there is no substitute. Mini anvils from Russia are the way to go.
First I watch lightbulbs getting destroyed, now anvils
I was pressured into watching this😯
Now lets see a U.S. anvil
This is one of those things that you know is kind of silly but is entertaining and you can’t look away.
As a jeweler, I rarely need more than 100 tons of force when working on a ring...
Those anvils were used for keychains through the soviet era.

Don’t try this a home you say……I’ve got the 100 ton hydraulic press but where could I possibly find a Soviet anvil ?
I’m off to buy a 100 ton press…….. so I can try it at home
wow fantastic vid
I really doubt that in their intended uses, a fetal anvil will ever be exposed to 100 tons of compression force.
I tried this at home so you don't have to.
Considering that anvils are hammered on by humans with a hammer this experiment is pointless.
Wait, so the largest blue whale is 200 tons, I'm surprise a whale could crush an anvil.
Now let's try that with Putin's hand -vs- Xi's...
this hydraulic press doesn't feel right...
Not bad ⚡️
Warning don’t try this at home really you mean I can’t use my 100 ton hydraulic press at home ?
I knew the comments would be hilarious, lol
Great, I won't use a sledge hammer on those anvils 😂
The Chinese anvil can still be used and had probably become stronger. Good upgrade.
Stalinium stronk!
That thing is full of micro fractures
So why does a tiny anvil need to be so strong?
Chinese anvil is just part of an old worn out tram line
If it doesn't break, I'm not interested. 😏
How has a hydraulic press at home?😂
While here in the west the choice would be a 'no brainer', the Chinese often win out as their marketing is focused on third world countries where quality is less an issue, cheap is the priority.. If someone was really desperate for a 100 ton anvil they'd no doubt supply a hydraulic press that read 100 tons whatever the pressure :>)
If both anvils were sent to Siberia and tested they would explode.
biggest difference I saw between the anvils to start with was Russian was machined steel and Chinese one was cast steel, so wasn't a real good comparison. from what I have read/heard nobody makes iron anymore since 1900s, early 20th century, everything is more or less run through a blast furnace straight to steel now adays.
Real, natural elements versus man-made alloys.

The Green Anvil may have been made out of "Ductile Cast Iron", like pistons in Hydraulic Cylinders, so they deform before they fail, where the "Grey Cast Iron" would crack way before that.... One possibility....
By my observation, the Chinese anvil started deforming at a bit under 20 tons.
