hybrid racing conversion harness install guide k swap honda crv rd1

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

today we are fitting a hybrid racing conversion harness for the k swap jdm rd1 crv, being that the crv is basically an ek civic this install guide will work for the ek civic as well .
i really wanted to hold off on shooting this video until the rear bracket arrived for the engine so that i could also start the engine but with the way the world is now shipping times are cooked.
so come back next week for a start up video.
Hopefully these videos are helpful to some? If they are do me a favour, like, subscribe, share etc it's FREE and it really helps me.. appreciate it.

That little bridge crimping thing is cool. So does that slightly pierce the existing wire?

Hey did you say speed science said to use the 96-98 ek loom??? I've watched this many times (not hearing it now) just contacted them and they said match it up with the year of my crv my crv is 2001 like yours trying to confirm exactly which I need

Mines a 1996. Yours is a 2001? If so ek loom obd2b is what you want 99 -01. Obd2a is 97- 99 with the 99 crossover month being march. Thanks for watching and if your ordering through speed science tell them jdm nuggets sent you they might give ya a discount 😉

Oh damn my bad thought you had said yours was 2000 or 2001 somewhere along the way lol. But okay thankyou that helps. Damn I wish I tried for a discount for the engine mount 🤣

Do you have a video about the a/c conversion? I thought I saw it before but can’t find it. I bought the hybrid racing conversion kit for an ek but just read something that said I need the one for an Integra…. Any thoughts?

Krv - 30 is the video. I used a mixture of stock honda fittings and had an ac shop welp up and crimp some lines. Apparently you can use rsx (dc5) oem ac lines according to a post on k20 org about an kswap crv done a few years ago ( 1st kswap crv)

Can you give a rough estimate on how much went into parts? And did most/all of them come from speed science?

95% from speed science, some direct from honda and a few bits from ali express lol like the swivel lower thermostat and upper coolant block. At a rough guess 12k new Zealand dollars. That includes some stuff thats still on the way, hybrid radiator, slim fans, hybrid coolant hoses and the elusive hub city awd rear engine bracket. Could shave costs quite a bit on some parts using second hand oem bits but time with filming became an issue.

@@jdmnuggets thank you. I'm in a boat trying to figure out if I want to this route or drop a jdm b20

K swap for sure 😁, rd1 is such a nice chassis to daily. Its just way under powered. With the b20 needing a bit more maintenance and getting old now i see this as an upgrade and future proofing. Hopefully have the car up and running soon will be able to see if it was worth it lol.
