Josh - all of these recent videos have been absolutely monstrous - what a huge effort and transition you've had to go through from "just" gigging and throwing things on KZread every once in a while, to a full online setup and onslaught - it is a huge achievement to have set this up and to have kept the momentum going, when it would be much easier to throw the towel in and just hibernate until you can play out again - though I get that the laying low option probably wasn't even an option, financially! You get past the pain quick!!!
Another challenge is to play thumb pick Chet Atkins/TE kind of stuff with hybrid instead. It's a pretty good estimation and has been a staple in my "acoustic" playing for many years.
Booooom such great playing
Cool :)
Awesome video and guitar but i think u need to intonate it. Can we see a video on how u put ur setup on ur guitar and stuff ? :)
Nice stuff here! What’s that board?
Thanks for this! Iam at this Point that I play fast Blues stuff and I can feel that my hybrid Hand wants to help but dont Unterstands how. Do you know what I mean? This will help also will check out the danny Gatton lesson.
freaking freaking SWEEEEEETTTTTT!!!!!
That first minute was crazy!!!
Shit man.....I fuckin' love your playing....
Guess what i'm working on now? Yep, hybrid. Thx JS!
thanks so much for this, Josh and all of your other content. Just curious - how s l o w a tempo did you have to start with as you were working the downpick, index/middle double stop hybrid style?

Does Josh Smith have the best Telecaster tone or is it just me? It sounds mighty good from over here.
Danny was a force of nature...Thanks Josh! Ps: What brand is this guitar.? Thanks!
WOW!!!😳😳😳
Thank u so much
Josh, do you use your little finger at all or mostly middle and ring fingers?
Hybrid picking is the way to go. Everyone will do it differently and you hear so much of the guitarists touch [ think mark knopfler ]
Great video. Could you perhaps make a quick and dirty video with some exercise videos about hybrid picking so I can practice ? ;)

@@JoshSmithGuitar I’d like to politely second the request for a few exercises that isolate the essentials of this technique. The triplets idea across three strings is awesome, what’s the mechanic for 3 notes per string? Any other drills you can cover would be wonderful. Perhaps a lick with those exercises at its core so there’s a musical application from day one. Much respect and appreciation sent from this Brooklyn picker.🤘🎸
So you learned hybrid picking over night?? One of the hardest to master picking styles I’ve ever done.
wow !! I have a question, are the fingers of the right hand with or without nails?

@Rob @Josh, Yes, I was thinking that also. Is that the one?
I always thought hybrid picking was gonna be too hard and didn’t learn it until I was trying to learn the intro to Cry of Achilles by Alter Bridge. Once I started though there was no turning back. It’s such a great technique! Just need my fretting hand to catch up lol
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎸🇮🇹
R u using 13 gauge on this video ?

A) Do you hybrid pick with your finger nail, the flesh of your finger, or a combo of both? B) Do you chose your t-shirt based on a riff that you're going to play in the video? Lol
