Man he has a perfect setup. He plays circles around everybody, damn.
Josh’s preferences don’t line up with any of the modern trends but he can have whatever opinions he wants because he’s a monster player!
Josh is a really cool guy, so down to earth just a player!
How can you not love Josh? One of the best players around, and more importantly, a super nice guy with no ego.
Our favorite compact build we’ve done to date! 🙌🏼
Anybody else see how he’s like a modern day Danny Gatton with his versatility. Just cool headed and calm but is a beast on that Tele

Josh Smith is a badass guitar player! Great to see this.
One of my favorite guitarists I've learned so much from him. Josh is the man.
These licks are phenomenal. Josh will make every setup sound good just with his fingers.
Well done, man you had me walking through a forest with not a dime in my pocket barefooted but feeling some hope through the trees as there was sunlight and honey dripping down from the trees. What a stellar instrument I must say. Bravo 👏
That intro playing is perfect, just perfect.
Amazing player. Love his work and his approach to the whole thing. Thanks for this.

I once got the chance to play Josh´s Chapin Tele. And the 13´s are great to play when you're used to play acoustic.. Loved the tone acoustically! Thanks Josh for the chance :)
What a sound, great code guys .
16:24 Josh is such a pro in front of the camera, he knows to repeat the bit that might get edited out.
Watched him grow up and gig in Fort Lauderdale, Fl with many premier players, I think he was 12 the first time I saw him. Spoke with him a few times and I must say he has alway been a dedicated musician and truly deserves being recognized as one of the worlds greatest guitarist.
Amazed at how versatile Josh is, certainly not just a blues guitarist, though that's not a bad thing at all
Such a nice guy and a true artist. Met him in Australia. I love how he is striving to just play what he wants to play and not sell out to get more money in his pocket, like almost every young musician I know is doing these days.
Dude knows his stuff. Great video
awesome rig rundown and epic guitar player, good lord this cat can play and he is just noodling.when he digs in its crazy awesome
Great episode again. Josh, hope to see you again when on tour in the Netherlands
This guys just go nuts on every aspect of his rig, it's impressive... He research and master every single detail...
Nice rundown! Great player. Laid back, and very knowledgeable about his whole signal path. And likely the strongest hands in the biz. 13s in standard? Wow.
So inspiring!
love this guy!
Funny to think when you see him on stage with Joe Bonamassa, he owns and plays thousands of guitars. Josh Smith just the one Telecaster.

JS is such a master musician . Check out his snippet from a few years back when he was at Thomman Music Messe taking delivery of the earlier Schmidt Array board, (his first) from Daniel S. of TPS. He does a noodling display on that board that is just stellar. 😊 And it is always great to hear John B. do an interview.
The insanity of these licks melted my face 98 percent of the time.
I could watch this again and again
Awesome Episode guys! Ruling!!
Josh is The Boss. Started to eatch out for him more than 15 years ago. And Bollinger is a GREAT interviewer (and great guitar player). Good stuff
Great point about strat sounds.
Great player and a very nice rig! Good stuff PG!! 👍☺️✌️
I've never heard anyone else refer to the Vox thing as "broken glass", but that's what I call it too!

Josh is a great musician!!!
Love this guy... never even heard of him.
It is very useful for me as an amateur just listening how and why he uses what he uses. Thx!
Great guitarist and all round nice guy.
Wow 13s and play like, that is impressive . Josh I love your tone and playing style and the Clipper is perfect. Great attitude . Keep up that awesome playing.
Sweet rig rundown, I've been checking Josh's stuff out, I just watched one with him and Tim Pierce, and of course he's been touring with J.B., and what got me inspired to check Josh out was hearing Joe say, live on stage, " and over here is the best guitar player on this stage, ladies and gentleman , "Josh Smith". Yessir, now I'm checking Josh's stuff out.
Joshs sound is insane. Damn

This dude blows your mind with his versatility and taste,
Great player! Wow
Top 5 RR IMO. 13-58's in standard? Whoa, and he's not flexing. You can tell he genuinely likes and wants that feel. And when he played the strat with the soloist pedal - I haven't wanted to run out and buy a pedal like that in a long time. Great work as always by JB, well done, I learned a lot on this one and added some items to my birthday list.

Recent trend ? Light gauges being utilized has been around for a long time by the greats
@mariodriessen9740
24 күн бұрын
@@a-aron3775 : Absolutely. Trends come and go. But this is a comment I wrote four years ago. And four years ago there was this online debate going on among content creators like Rick Beato, Rhett Shull and many others who came to the conclusion that using lighter gauge strings will provide you with better tone. Apparently it was David Friedman who stated this as a fact and this started a debate, like I mentioned before. But I for one never found their experiments very convincing. For various different reasons. Not only is the quality of sound a very subjective matter, but things like ‘feel’ and personal preference, or stability (like tuning issues) weren’t part of the debate. I’m not the youngest and I spent years of searching for the best set of strings for me. Anyway, lots of content creators, but also established artists joined the bandwagon and many of them started to use lighter gauge strings. At the time Josh Smith was a well respected guitarist and became better known with a wider audience. But as we all know, he uses very heavy strings and unless I missed something, he still does. But there have always been guitarists that were known to use very heavy strings (SRV, Dick Dale, Rick Parfitt) and there have always been guitarists that were known to use very light strings (Billy Gibbons, Tony Iommi, Frank Zappa), so indeed, there’s nothing new. But like I said, there are trends. I remember when Stevie Ray Vaughan became an established artist, guitarists from all over the world started to experiment with using heavier strings. And four years ago the trend was quite the opposite, hence my comment. 😊
Love Josh smiths playing 🔥 John kind of gives me Billy Bob Thornton vibes
I prefer the Josh Smith sound when he has that Strat
Absolute Professional
i kind of know what he's talking about. I never felt like myself playing Les Pauls or other guitars. Other bands and sounds came to mind before I could write anything of my own. The Tele has so much personality and suits so many genres. the swiss army knife of guitars.
Digging that fuzz and Kingtone pedal
Josh seems like such a nice man!
Thanks for asking about the picks. Didn’t ask Bukovac or Beato on their rig rundowns. I’m always interested in what picks these guys use. Such a personal thing from player to player.
