Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. Footage taken from a week spent at the fantastic Davidson Camp, Wilderness Safaris in 2012. We visited towards the end of the hot dry season, and herds of a hundred or more elephants were regular visitors to the camp. Also woke on our last morning to our first ever sighting of wild dogs. Only a brief visit but brilliant none the less.

I recommend anyone to go back, the experience was amazing, both the people and the wildlife. Never let politics interfere with the support and appreciation of the worlds last great places. In fact, it’s that very support that can help keep them alive

Hi are you Zimbo? Either way I just don't understand why our park is less regarded than say Kruger and Masai Mara. Yes I know there is the political stuff affecting us but Hwange deserves greater acclaim internationally. Cheers

Was born at Hwange in 1959 when Zimbabwe was known as Southern Rhodesia (before illegal UDI in 1965). Have not been back and was advised never to go back under present government regime. Hwange is a beautiful area and will always have it in my heart.

you should go back. It's not that dangerous if you're careful. I was there in 2011 and it was fine. The government should be no reason for you not to go back :)

you are ridiculous my friend! Why to be so coward? I was not born in Hwangue nor in Zw but lived 20 years in your country, wondeful even with a tyrant ruling. I visited hwange as I am a wildlife specialist and I can tell you, you are ridiculous not to go back.
