That's absolutely true!!

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle kzread.infoUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

Good comparison, albeit a little unfair. The Husky is clearly the better saw, without a doubt it. Where I am, the Makita is less than half the price and has the added bonus of using an almost universally available and used battery that's compatible with a massive range of 18v tools. So, if you want the best electric top handle saw, the Husky beats the Makita. If you want a small, lightweight, versatile saw for small stuff, the Makita represents pretty good value and performance for the price.

Nice comparison, thanks! The Husqvarna seems to be of a different class of course but it’s in different price class also. The little Makita seems to be a game-changer though, quite a handy, affordable and sufficiently powerful too (well, Dewalt had something similar before I guess, but in Europe it’s not so widely available and is quite pricey).

I guess you’re right, Makita had duc122 etc. Would be nice to see a comparison between duc254 and 18v brushless Dewalt though: Dewalt should have much lower chain speed by specs but in real life it seems to be rather quick and powerful (for a chainsaw that is so little that is).

Looks like nobody mentions Makita DUC254 turbo mode? Press "on" for a few seconds more and light indicator changes - adds more power.

18v vs 36v ? :)

Good video, i've been looking for a comparison between these two. I've got a petrol 25cc Makita and 35cc Husqvarna T40, the Makita has been a fantastic reliable saw for years and great for pruning or taking down the top sections of the tree until I need the extra power of the Husqvarna. I can get most of the higher cuts done on one tank of fuel with the Makita. I would like to try switching over to battery saws as I already have Makita batteries for my other tools, I would be good to see a comparison of the Makita 36v if you get hold of one in future.

For everyone who is complaining that the Makita is only 18 volts, check out the Milwaukee 18V chainsaw.

Оператор с Макитой не умеет ей пользоваться.Она безредукторная, выезжает за счёт скорости цепи. Ее ВООБЩЕ не надо давить, она прекрасно справляется под своим весом.

You should've used the "power mode" or "torque mode" on the Makita.. however it's called... There's this function for harder cuts but you said no word on that. Thanks for the video though 👍

What anyone with a makita should do is buy a full chisel chain and get rid of the crappy oem semi chisel safety chain that comes with it and watch your saw become a real chainsaw. It cuts so much faster and you get alot more cuts per battery cause your saws cutting much quicker compared to oem chain so your saws much more efficient with battery to run/ cut time ratio . However full chisel dulls faster and mine needs to be sharpened now and it's still twice as fast as my new safety chain

I have asked a few resellers the same question and they said that it is the same saw but with a new name so it will match the other Husky saws and their names/models better.

535 is water proof , 536 is not / and bigger batteries now 4.2 was max amps now it’s 9.2 amp

you forgot too push the Highspeedlevel (press the ON Button longer time when the Light is chancing it will ON

I've watched a few videos on this Makita. The high speed doesn't really seem to make much of a difference power wise. This is not one of Makita's better chainsaws.

A true test would be using the Torque boost mode on the Makita in this stress test. try it then see the difference

You would have been better comparing with a shorter bar (if poss') cutting up to 180mm diametre and leaving the larger timber to the petrol units where you need speed when cutting.

it's too bad that you don't know that Makita has a Turbo mode. I just achieved it, so I can't tell you by practice. I only saw on youtube that Turbo mode is activated by pressing Power button once again while working. it would have been very interesting to see how that worked in that log test .

I love makita tools but I hate this chainsaw. It overheats very quickly. Then it shuts off and you can’t use it until it cools down. Very irritating when you need to get work done. If you only needed to cut a couple small branches off a tree then it might be okay. The the cordless sawzall with the correct blade is a much better option. It never overheats and shuts off.

Makita 18V does it great.

Come on!!! compare with the same voltage. Husky 36v with Makita 36v. Don't be bias.

@@kindakool2529 I guess would depend on what type of wood, diameter and how much pressure is being applied but the Makita is a good saw too for its size.

Nawet gdyby husqvarna okazała się leprza w konurencji 36 vs 36 to co z tego ... jaki to jest system. Makita ma mase sprzetu na 18 v . Dlamnie baterie tylko do jednego urządzenia nie mają sensu. Nawet gdybym był drwalem i uzywał tylko piły i nic innego to zacznijmy od tego że jak bym był drwalem to bym używał spalinowej.... a baterie z makity mam do wkretarek , młotów , ppdkaszarek , latarek itp

Dear friend your video doesn't tell the truth !! The Husquarna is 36 Volt, the Makita in your video is an 18 Volt pruning model the comparison is not on par, to be a correct video you should have used the Makita DUC353Z 36V !!! Your video is not useful.
