Husqvarna 115H Automower 2 Month Review (WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!) Worth buying?

Robot Lawn Mower Review (2 Months Later) WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW! - Husqvarna Automower 115H
I give my review on the results, problems and challenges I’ve had over the last 2 months with my Robot Lawn Mowers from Husqvarna. I purchased the Husqvarna Robotic Lawnmower Automower 115H with cellular connectivity. I actually purchased 2 automatic lawn mowers to cover the full .8 acres of my yard.
In this video tutorial I discuss, the pros, cons to using a robomower and challenges with installing the boundary wire and guide wire so the robot could find its way around my yard, stay within the boundaries and find its way back to the charging station to charge up for great lawn care.
I didn't want to mow my yard or pay a landscape company to do it but I wanted to free up my time.
The automower features a pin code required to access the robot and a loud alarm if tampered with. The automower is very quiet, allowing for operation at night without disturbing you or your neighbors and can even continue cutting the grass in the rain.

    @@themysticsupreme5946 Installing the boundary wire and guide wire was a lot of work (I also have a large yard). I personally wanted to know where the wire was buried so I could experiment with adjusting it if I wasn't happy with the mower cutting results plus I wanted to know how to fix it if there was a wire break and that's why I installed it myself, plus I saved the money of paying for the installation which I was able to use to buy some other stuff. If you're not excited about the amount of work involved, I would say its worth it to have the boundary wire and guide wire installed. It'll save your back that's for sure.

    Good video. You hit all the key points on owning an automower of any type. I love mine, but I had some issues with the app, but they have been addressed with the latest updates. One thing to remember is that the cutting height is NOT in inches! In fact, I hate that they do not mention the units at all! I found out that ALL measurements are in cm. BTW, I got mine named Bigfoot :)

    @@boltanna5754 no the specs are correct but on the app the units are in centimeters. On my app I can go up to 9cm which is 3.5 inches, but it doesn’t say 9cm. It just says 9. Nine what? I thought it was inches so I set it to 3 which turned out to be 3 cm.

    Excellent video answered a lot of the questions I had. I think some other models use the boundary wire to get back home so maybe that's a better solution vs a guide wire. Also it's strange that the mower base doesn't create its own network to communicate with the mower and then have a connection from itself to WiFi. The mower base is likely to be close to the home/garage and near a WiFi connection. Think I will hold off a few years until the tech matures a little more. Robot mowers have a great future though.

    @@TinkerForward Husqvarna have been selling these for 25 years. The Guide wire is option 1, it will use the boundary to find it's way home if it doesn't find the guide. Alternatives that only use the boundary to find their way home have a tendency to dig in corners as they will always follow the boundary wire in the same direction.

    Thanks! Yes, you'll still need to install the boundary wires for the automower. Unfortunately it will not run as a safety feature unless the boundary wire is fully connected in a complete loop which the mower senses to stay inside the boundary

    How do you run a boundary around something in the center of your yard? Do you have to interrupt the perimeter of your yard and run a double strand of the wire to whatever you're creating a boundary around? That seems like it would create a big wall right down the center of your yard that the mower couldn't go through

  • @TinkerForward

    @TinkerForward

    Жыл бұрын

    For objects that are in the middle of your yard, such as a tree. For example, you would extend the ascending boundary wire into the middle of your yard, go around the tree and then run the boundary wire return right alongside the ascending wire. With the two wires side by side they cancel each other out and the mower will still be able to cross over that path to continue cutting in your yard. I have done this with a few trees in my yard and it works great.

    I own two of these Husqvarna Automower 115h's, and this guy's review is pretty terrible. Watch a review from somebody who has actually used these things before and knows what they're doing. This guy obviously didn't know how to install the boundary wire properly and that's the reason for a lot of the problems he had. We aren't perfect, they do mess up sometimes, just like a Roomba does. But usually it's very easy to get them back on track, and I'm definitely happy that I purchased them.

    Hey Daytona, thanks for watching. I've now had these mowers going on year 3. Sorry you thought the review was terrible. I tried to give as honest a review as possible and covered a lot of topics I think are important to someone in the market for these automowers. I think my review is pretty spot on with what others have left in comments on my channel as well as other review sites like Amazon. With these being Husqvarnas cheapest automowers they currently only have a 3.5 star rating on Amazon with most comments covering the same issues I have. I also followed Husqvarnas installation video showing how to install the boundary wire so I'd love to know what I should have done differently. In addition I've also done several videos on these mowers and how to fix line breaks and troubleshoot problems and some of that info has also come from conversations I've had with customer service for these mowers. I recently released an updated review 2 years later that's available here with more insights with these mowers for others to see how they've been running: m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/n5-ikqVsldGdqpM.html I would recommend these Automowers to others, but they are definitely not for everyone and not for every yard. I still think the technology has a long way to go.

    Hey, couldn't you jsut use a lawn edger to bury the wire? I have a Ryobi electric lawn edger 40 volt. I cold easily did a trench aroudnt he yard with that and then just fill in with sand or potting soil over the wire.

  • @TinkerForward

    @TinkerForward

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Steven, I actually used an EGO edger to trench the boundary line where it borders my yard and my neighbors, but its still a process to trench and bury the wire. Honestly, that worked better than using the plastic stakes that come with the automowers because then the wire stays burried. The places where I staked the wiring down settled last summer but then all the plastic stakes popped back up after the cold winter we had here in Wisconsin. Apparently when the ground froze it pushed the stakes back up. Took me about an hour of walking around my yard after winter to step on all the stakes to push them back down.

    Ha ha, believe it or not all the footage in this video is the mower cutting grass. When you see it moving at 2:05 it's actually cutting, not just running over the grass. But it doesn't cut like a traditional lawn mower so you won't see huge grass cut marks, we run it 5 days a week so the grass always stays shorter. I haven't had to pull out our riding mower all season. You can see the automower cut results at 18:03.
