Yes!! So many similarities. Coddling parents. Watts and Coleman had extremely cold and apathetic mistresses who showed absolutely no empathy towards the dead wife and two children. Also, both had 2 children. These coincidences should not be overlooked. All these factors, when combined, led to two different men committing family annihilation.

Some guys (and a few women, but generally guys) are just not good at the transition from teen/young adult to adulthood. It takes a good degree of maturity to be ok with the focus no longer being on you once kids arrive, that you will need to give up the ya party/tinder lifestyle or may have to sacrifice for kids, including financially and giving up things you did before. When some of these guys find out they want to go back to being the spoiled single son, with few responsibilities, they think murder is “better” than a divorce, like Scott Petersen, Chris Watts, this guy, etc. And it’s usually the dumber people who think they can get away with a crime, let alone a family murder….the smarter know it’s wrong, too many ways to get caught, and a mature divorce or healing the marriage is the far best option.

Well, it is meant for a good reason…there are a few cases (very few) where people actually do get religion, regret past behavior and try to make sincere amends. And there is a saying that church is meant as a hospital for sinners, not a country club for saints and an old story where a church received a letter from a person that they are penniless after several prison stints, and are on a watchlist of the government, but would like to apply for the position of pastor…..with all disapproving until they see the signature of “The Apostle Paul.” Plus much of Christian theology is that we all fall short, we all don’t love our neighbor as ourselves, etc, but are forgiven. But yeah….this is open to being exploited by criminals doing a false conversion to gain trust or perks in jail, and fake religiously is used by many cons to manipulate.

@Itried20takennames You've literally outlined exactly how religion can/is corrupted and why it's a useless system. And your systems and values prevent you from identifying or doing anything about it. It's why the abuse from religious people never stops. You create the home for sinners to come to, give them resources to improve their personal losses from their sins, and then give them power/authority within the church. They just have to say, in a convincing way, what you want to hear. And they know what to say because it just has to sound like your book or that it comes from it. They dont have to actually believe it, they're sinners who can live with a lie. Additionally, it's encouraged not to question their actions/motives because they are "trying to repent." There is simply no logic to this, only raw and ignorant emotion.

Is this really shocking considering how rife a buse is in religion and how much the a busers are protected and defended? The amount of times I've been told by religious women, especially, that they had to apologise TO THE MAN that forced himself on them because she was the reason he "strayed". Religion has always been a get out of jail free card to behave terribly towards people (especially women and children) and not being held accountable for it.

Tara casually, sometimes gleefully throwing him under the bus is really something to behold. Obviously, it’s good that she cooperated, but her indifference toward him is pretty jarring when you consider that he killed his family to be with her. He strangled his own children with his bare hands because he thinks he’s going to marry her, and she’s casually incriminating him, laughing at times … it’s what he deserves, but it makes the deaths of his wife and children even more tragic; he truly killed them for nothing. I think Chris Watts’ mistress, as immoral and misguided as she was, actually had some feelings for him. This woman shows zero empathy toward the victims, one of whom was once her own friend, and laughs at the murderer; she’s quite a monster. Not that it matters, but she was also pudgy and extremely unattractive. The mistress in the Watts case was at least in good shape.

@@Itried20takennamesFrom my experience of crazy Christian parents and deconstructing it in therapy, it wouldn't just be them killing the family pet in front of him. Because you can still have a moral compass that tells you that is wrong. You have to do way more psychological damage while a kid is vulnerable and ignorant of the world, that's why these crazy theists always push home schooling. Separate the kids from the rest of the world and you can teach them whatever you want them to think. They have to consistently abuse their kids and corrupt/lie/manipulate their kids worldview until they no longer trust their own judgement or perspective. Whoever he used to be as a kid, that person wouldn't have killed his family. But he became the person who could, due directly to his parents brainwashing and interference. You can hear him regressing while being accused, sounds like a little kid answering to his parents. It's sad to think of the circumstances that made him this way, but he took out whatever his parents did to him onto his own wife/kids. I doubt he will ever wake up from his delusions. He couldn't live with himself otherwise.

I could do it if I had no other food source, but as long as there’s stocked grocery stores, I don’t see a need for me (not saying everyone) to kill animals for food. I don’t see it as a “sport” or hobby, it’s a life necessity to be used when needed, not as something fun to do on a fall weekend. I get the need to cull species numbers, and if hunting is a “sport” for someone else, I don’t have an issue with someone getting satisfaction out of it. They didn't like Sherri bc they thought she was unladylike or promiscuous based entirely on her appearance and lust for life even though she was more faithful than her husband, wtf made them dislike the kids?? also both are bad. even if Sherri was promiscuous or unladylike that's not a reason to dislike her the way they did. Also 'unladylike' is BS im just gonna say it. that's dumbass speak for "she's not a tradewife and that makes my pp sad" these parents SUCK.

It's disgusting but not uncommon. He's their golden boy. She was the one who "tainted" their perfect family. Ironic since he was the furthest thing from a good man there is. I hope she's at peace with her boys, and I wish I could be a fly on the wall when he and his parents end up going somewhere in the afterlife they think they're above.

Wow the similarities between the Chris Coleman case and Chris Watts case are insane. First of all they’re both named Chris. They both had a wife and two young children they murdered. Both used strangulation to kill their families. They were both having affairs and essentially killed their families to be with the mistress. Both had parents who hated their wives and essentially poisoned them against their wives. I’m glad they were both caught pretty quickly. These were two psychopaths and their families didn’t deserve what happened to them. Just get a divorce if you want to be with someone else! The complete lack of compassion and empathy for human life is incredibly tragic. May Sheri and Shannan and all their beautiful children rest in peace 🙏🏾💜

What's truly astounding to me is that he hated his wife because she did the responsible thing when she got pregnant and decided to settle down, so then when he goes and gets a mistress, he decides he wants to have a kid with her too, which surely would restart the whole process. How stupid can one guy be. It's really frustrating how nobody around him seemed to notice that his actual problem with his wife was that she was being responsible in her life, and he didn't want that, he wanted to be a party boy for the rest of his life, and hated everything that tried to make him grow up when he didn't want to. Little do they know they've only been given the rope to...you know the rest. Every bit of such a mindset has been created for the sake of fostering the subversion of all semblance of normalcy and healthy human society so that the problem thereby created can be solved by means prepared ahead of time by those who deliberately brought it all about, seizing far greater power for themselves in the process. I don't primarily write this with any illusions of hope that those who have voiced such views could POSSIBLY have the mind necessary to respond correctly, but perhaps to affect them in some way while possibly conveying something to those capable of receiving it.

So did Shanann Watts. There’s no pleasing men like this. The crazy part is that it really had nothing to do with the wives. The problem was the husbands/killers. They would have grown just as unhappy with the mistresses eventually, because they will always be looking for the next new thing. This comes from low self esteem and dissatisfaction with self. I hate that those women had to bear the weight of these men’s damaged personalities.

I hope Connie’s passing was prolonged and painful, and that she is rotting in a place that is nothing like the heaven she believed she would be going to. That whole family is vile, and I hope Ron and Chris follow her in painful ways, but not before Chris never gets out of prison and spends a long time there. Poor Sherri and her boys - I hope her family have happy memories to wrap around them. As for Tara, what a revolting woman - clearly super jealous of her prettier, more interesting, and much more kind “friend” from high school, so she decided to play the “I can take your man” game … absolutely pathetic and she is gross and embarrassing.

People who merely remain friends with unfaithful people are human garbage as well. I've dumped three girlfriends for keeping a friend like that in their lives, and it's proven to be the right decision in every case. Its one of the most insidious red flags....subtle and seemingly inconsequential, but is a sign of very low character.

Normal, loving parents would absolutely blame themselves for what their son did. The amount of guilt they would feel would be crushing. For his mother to do interviews and call her, "a little blonde thing" is incredibly disrespectful and psychotic and shows a total lack of empathy. Not surprising considering what they did to their sensitive, shy son. Actions have consequences, sometimes ones you can't even imagine.

In the end as much as I believe that we are all responsible for our own actions and mistakes, there's no doubt in my mind that his parents played a role in the construction of his specific psyche. You see the delusions in just a few little clips from his parents imagine an entire life with them. I still hold Chris responsible for everything though despite his parents being awful. No sht. Under usual circumstances I can have some sympathy for the parents of murderers. The don't lose as much as a victim's family but their lives are still destroyed forever. I can recognize did lose something and likely never expected anything like that to happen. But people like this I have no sympathy for. It seems like a cope for them to tell themselves they're not at fault for raising a monster. These are people who probably never have and never will take accountability for anything
