Keep in mind they USED to measure temps at 6 feet in the air. Now they are measuring them closer to the ground which means its going to register hotter. Do that on tarmac, well... You get the picture. My weather station in my house has registered normal temps for this year so far. Maybe a little hotter but nothing to write home about. Its the UV index that concerns me. I left a homer bucket out in the sun for one week and its already lost all semblance of orange and went into a highlighter yellow.

I switched all my gardening to aeroponics for this exact reason. 90% less water, 90% less space, ability to grow daily harvest year-round instead of having to put up food. It's a different way to homestead but we are about to live in very different times.

I'm a 70 year old retired plumber and I've seen a lot of seasons. One suggestion is have multiple rain barrels connected with 1 and1/2 ' pipes a few inches from the bottom so they fill each one, have a spigot a few inches from the bottom of one to hokk a hose on to. Check your elavation above sea level and find your atmospheric pressure. Then mount the barrels accordinally. At sea level to 1,000 ft would be close to 15 psi. so a barrel mounted 2 ft would give 30 psi at the hose. The higher the elevation the less pressure so the barrels should be another foot higher. If the barrels are connected close to the base you will pull water from all barrels at the same time and the pressure will stay longer. Of course all fittings have to bet water tight.

Couple years ago I bought a usb chargeable fan. It's good sized and really pushes out the air. The fan will help us keep cool in triple digits. Putting wet cloth on the front will further help cool us down. We have gas and solar generators to keep our large freezer going. We'll be able to make some ice. Thanks Travis for the information. If you’re in hot zones and have raised beds… I’ve found the best thing is to line your beds with cardboard (sides and bottom), then add sticks or small logs, then add about 2-4 inches of wood chips, then your soil. The cardboard will help retain moisture in the wood chips to help the plants keep constant moisture. In se Texas, almost 100 and go easily go 3 days without watering. Just wanted to share in case it can help someone 🤍

I moved to an area that be an easier area to survive, but know there will still be problems no matter where I am. I've been seeing the climate patterns change long before anyone started admitting it. Always been a weather and science nerd. I feel like i've been prepping for this my whole life. And great point about the seeds---- adaptable seeds that you can save year to year in your own specific location will go a long way to helping.... also been doing that as well for years.

We live in FL. The hospital I work at puts out a sign up sheet for hurricanes every year. A team is during the storm, B team is before and after. Hardly anyone signed up for A team. They used to sign up in large numbers for A team, bc you were paid crisis pay for your entire time there even while you slept. That ended, the B list is now 5x the amt of people than A list. They also make you sleep on the floor in dog piles in the area you work. So people are under desks and in supply rooms. They let you use 1 shower and you get limited time and the line is 50 people long. They feed you generic meals. This is an HCA facility. They just added a 100 million dollar section to the hospital, the front part is old. Its first floor has flooded before, cars have floated and got hung up on a fence once. The second floor roof backdrains and water pours in the L&D and Picu/Nicu in a heavy rainstorm. It will be interesting this year.

One thing i have noticed or at least perceived is that the UV rays seem more intense than even a few years ago.

I am one such plant that used to not need shade but now does. I never used to get sunburn but now I do. I can tell that the intensity of the suns light through our atmo has increased. Its due to the weakening of the earths magnetic field. This is something that happens periodically on a geological timescale with the earth, but its something that we have to adapt to none the less. All life has to adapt to it. Adapt or die. Nature does not look kindly on weakness or complacency. It could be analagous to a test. Nature likes to test the lifeforms once in awhile. It weeds out the weakness and thus ensures a prosperous continuation of life as a whole. I think its important that hunanity realizes this instead of blaming itself for it. When we sucessfully overcome these challemges nature throws at us, we emerge from the ashes as even more powerful beings who are that much more worthy of seeding life across the cosmos and adapting to the new challenges we will face and that all life will face upon the new cosmic bodies we will arive upon.

disregard, found something. it appears the excessive rainfall that we've received just might have balanced things out. thanks! "As of May 23, 2024, the seasonal precipitation outlook for the Missouri River Basin from June to August 2024 indicated a higher chance of below-normal precipitation in the northern and western parts of the basin. This could lead to low surface water levels and depleted soil moisture, which could impact agriculture and navigation on the lower Missouri River. However, as of June 10, 2024, the Corps of Engineers reported that active rainfall patterns across the Midwest had provided much-needed moisture to many parts of the basin. For example, large areas of Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, eastern South Dakota, and eastern Nebraska received more than 200% of normal precipitation in May. However, central South Dakota, western Nebraska, and eastern Colorado only received about 25% of normal precipitation." www.drought.gov/drought-status-updates/drought-status-update-missouri-river-basin-2024-05-23#:~:text=The%20seasonal%20precipitation%20outlook%20for,levels%20and%20depleted%20soil%20moisture.

You can do your own experiment to see if CO2 warms up air (the ocean also absorbs about half & so also absorbs more UV energy & so retains it as heat). It's very easy - google the procedure to do it ensure it's done scientifically with a control. Basically it involves two thermometers, an infra-red lamp, two sealed bottles and a source of CO2 like a CO2 bicycle tyre quick-inflator, or vinegar+baking soda. It's very easy. I've previously asked a few other prepper youtubers whether they want to do their own experiments to see with their own eyes, and they always basically "naah I'm good." It's very odd - almost like a core part of their belief system which cannot ever change, so they refuse. I actually find the psychology of it very interesting :)

@@TUKByV they're not Stars, they're celestial bodies here in the inner Solar system with us. Hundreds of observations over almost 10 years they did not slingshot around the sun like we are told everything does, they came in just prior to 2015, in May is when I found them in the sky with Venus in the center, blue planet and a red comet with two tails behind it on either side of Venus. I watched them this whole time and now they're coming around with Venus yet again, we don't have long. And by the way if the poles were shifting and moving to the magnitude they say they were or at all you would have GPS coordinates completely out of whack... It would be chaos but guess what? You don't see that because the most northern part of the world is the only magnetic pole or possibly rupris negra or the magnetic "Black Rock" mountain of biblical porportions in which Gerard murcador the famous old map cartographer drew and sent back to his queen🤷..... Remember folks there are two places in the world you can't go that is militarized and you can't fly over it and you can't go to it or attempt to at all... That is the North Pole centralized region and Antarctica in which you cannot go beyond the 60th parallel which is 200 miles roughly from ice wall that holds in our oceans or the boundaries of the ocean.... Google maps make sure to blotch or patch out anything in the most northern part of the earth and especially in Antarctica.....🤷....FACTS.. oh and by the way water always seeks and finds its own ( LEVEL ).... It's called simple fluid dynamics my friends.. is what water does especially large molecules of water that are combined and are fluid together.... And or refer to Pascal's law which does hold some truth.. but if anybody knows how a carpenter's level works then you will know that water seeks and finds its own level just like lake baekel in Russia when it's frozen over and it's perfectly flat for miles upon miles with no curvature..facts!!!🤷🙉🙈🙊
