My grandfather had property since the 1930s in Mantoloking, and I was on the beach from the time I was 3 months old. My childhood took place there, every summer for decades. I have the most wonderful memories of him there, at the Jersey Shore. I am crushed. Brokenhearted. My grandfather is no longer alive, but I know for sure there are tears in Heaven.

Thank you so much for making this video. My family owned a house across from South Beach on East Ave for many years. My favorite childhood memories are from the summers I spent there. Mantoloking is filled with wonderful people. I know they'll band together and bring it back, as I trust and pray all hit by this disaster will. Thoughts and prayers with you all.

I saw my family we are getting through. My brothers house 10ft of water. I have been to the sure at my grandfathers house and my husbands uncle owned half of LBI he sold the land to builders. The shore is our second home. We will rebuild and my brothers house will be ok again it was on the Lagoon next to the bay two blocks from the ocean. Chadwick Beach. :( I am not over this.

I hope that house at the foot of the bridge, the sole survivor surrounded by water gets to remain once the wash-through area gets filled in and streets restored. It looks still in good condition. The town of Mantoloking should put a plack on that house, a historic survivor of Super Storm Sandy.
