They put themselves in that spot, the storm was being tracked for days. No sympathy here! 😂

They had enough notice to evacuate. It's not like we don't get weather warnings for hurricanes.

But I’m pretty sure they made plans to go months in advance…and usually it’s nonrefundable

I'm pretty sure the reservations they made were nonrefundable (A lot of resorts and hotels do this)

Exactly the same happened to us, Ivan struck 24hrs after arriving in grenada. What an experience that was? I felt for the people we left behind. They’d lost everything..

They had plenty of time to leave. The hurricane was spotted/tracked moving towards them for a while. Stupidity😂

You do realize that many people plan vacations almost a year in advance right? And that many resorts and airlines do not offer refunds for any reason? Also this was VERY early for hurricane season. Most cat 5 hurricanse don't happen until at least August or september.

hurricane season is usually later in the summer. I was there and my flight home was postponed a day. as the video said, this is the strongest ever hurricane this early in the summer.

Your own fault for going to a hurricane zone during hurricane season from June-November. Go before or long after.

At least the hurricane didn't severely damage the hotel they're staying at. It's also good to see they're still in a positive mood despite a bad situation.

The Caribbean is well known for its hurricanes.

@@boybawang1981 Right but June/July is very early in the season. This is probably the earliest cat 5 we've ever seen, so it's kind of just not expected.

Usually hurricane season doesn’t start until August or September
