Hurricane Beryl struck the Leeward Islands on Monday July 1, 2024. The Category 4 Hurricane made landfall in Carricou Island, Grenada but the effects were felt well away from the center. There were many impacts felt in Barbados, St Vincent, St Lucia, and Martinique. Beryl has only strengthened in the southeastern Caribbean and is now a category 5 hurricane. The Yucatán peninsula and gulf coast of the United States need to watch beryl closely over the next few days. Jamaica is next to feel impacts from possibly a major hurricane. Hurricane warning is in effect for Jamaica.
