Good stoppage,. Hurd looked a few weight divisions bigger than Dan; and Dan was only going to get brutalized/damaged if the fight went on. You could see there was nothing Dan could do that was seriously deterring Hurd.

Pretty sure Hurd is lacking power or Dan's face is concrete

My only concern with hurd is that he takes too many unnecessary shots. He leaves himself open after he throws big shots. It's almost like he's playing around defensively. Quite clear he has great defensive potential from close range as he is very slippery inside but a guy with power like an Errol Spence would hurt him. That shoulder roll defense requires good distance and footwork. As you can see he's a little too stationary at times. A bit more foot work would do wonders for this kid. He's game for action though. A very fan friendly fighter but hopefully it doesn't shorten his career. *Greetings From The U.K.!*

That's true, but he fought Galarza and Molina, both guys who can punch and destroyed them. Against a more experienced puncher he should def tighten up that defense though I agree.

Agreed, he's trying to utilize the shoulder roll but fights stanging square with his left shoulderlow. Needs to be fighting at an angle with that shoulder elevated . Trying to emulate the Sweet P/Mayweather style might get him KO'd vs Harrison tonight

Once Hurd get in the ring with someone with a little power, it might not go so well. He's real easy to hit. Sloppy with his punches as well.

But you should rewatch the first two rounds I think Dan hits him with maybe 2 power punches when he threw who knows how many lol?? When you're THAT much bigger then your opponent gettin inside and eating a couple short punches like lil hooks n uppercuts by the much smaller man isn't a problem at all. MARK MY WORDS the dudes gonna have a great career, he's a very smart boxer. He's got good head movement, rolls with almost every punch he takes on the inside and is constantly working. And the type combinations he throws, and how and when he throws them are a work of art. There's more to boxing then staying on the outside and out jabbing your opponent. The dudes legit

Hurd has a very awkward style that if he can perfect it defensively he would be a monster. If his sloppiness is actually calculated then he's a very smart fighter and his opponents will assume everything he does is mistakes. This form of fighting makes every movement seem like a feint. Genius.

I like what I see from Hurd but kinda fought the wrong fight. granted he won that's clear. what was also clear he stayed in close way too long. jo jo tough as nails n he got some punches in that idk if he really shouldn't have. especially when Hurd had longer reach n better boxing.

he's got good power. I'd like to see better range finding with his feet and more snap in his straight punches. Other then that his hooks are good and he's got the talent to take him to the top, lets see if he capitalizes on it

Completely different. Molina improved a lot after the Arreola fight. Dan has aged a lot since the Brook fight and he was tiny compared to Hurd... and Hurd still went 6 rounds with him! Brook beat a better Dan quicker at a lower weight yet these guys praise Hurd and hate on Brook🤔

Hurd is a prospect who fought Dan as a late replacement in a learning / stay busy fight after knocking out two undefeated prospects. Kell Brook fought him in a title defence as world champion. Obviously you can't compare the levels of the two fighters. Brook is clearly the more polished fighter. Hurd is certainly skilful and exciting to watch but he showed complacency in this fight. If Hurd is the goods though at least we know he won't get to 34 fights and still be fighting Jo Jo Dan.

Looks like we're gonna find out - Hurd v Tony Harrison Feb 25. For comparison, in Kell Brook's twentieth fight he fought Michael Lomax.

Size difference here is embarrassing. Hurd is a light heavyweight. Fighters need to be weighed right before they step into the ring otherwise there's no point in having weight divisions.

I was at this fight...it was hard to watch.

commentators keep talking about Hurd's power being amazing like a "cannon" but he was landing cleanly all fight and couldn't drop or even significantly hurt a much smaller less skilled fighter. I don't see the power they're going crazy over. on top of that he's not overly quick with his combos despite his nickname and is lazy with his punches and keeping his hands low most of the time. all in all he's not a bad fighter but I'm not at all impressed with this guy. his athleticism is the only thing really winning him these fights against lesser competition

Hurd looks very good here, loose smooth and strong, but one almost hopes next time he picks on someone his own size

Yeah man...I heard from some reliable sources he was set to get crackin' with Willie Nelson (now THAT would have been a fight). To answer your question, it's called age. I had to explain this to my son, who asked the same question, but it has to do with the fact he cannot re hydrate like he used to getting 47 or under would make him weak as fuck. I'll give you an example. Watch and enjoy the demise of Kell "Bitch-ass" Brook. You see, he can no longer walk in to the ring for a 47 fight over 175. Now he's having to fight guys his own size, and they are lining up to sodomize his bitch ass.

That would've been a competitive fight and a good test for Hurd at this point of his career. And it's also called money lol Jojo got paid to get his ass whooped. As far as Kell Brook is concerned, I think that he's a great fighter but yeah, I don't think he should be at 147. He claims he can still make welterweight, just recently, but I think that's bullshit. And the thing is that he still has the nerve to call out names like Manny and Khan @147 too. Brook should really be campaigning at 154 - that division is stacked though.
