Here's how I scored it. Round 1: 10-9 Garcia Round 2: 10-9 Peterson Round 3: 10-9 Garcia Round 4: 10-9 Garcia Round 5: 10-9 Garcia Round 6: 10-9 Garcia Round 7: 10-9 Garcia Round 8: 10-9 Peterson Round 9: 10-9 Garcia Round 10: 10-9 Peterson Round 11: 10-9 Peterson Round 12: 10-9 Peterson Total: 115-113 Garcia Peterson did a good job of making Garcia miss, but he wasn't capitalizing on those misses, and so Garcia won the rounds because Peterson wasn't letting the punches go, especially in the first half of the fight. Even though Danny was missing the mark a lot, he still hit Peterson with more heavy shots, than Peterson hit Danny. I suppose Peterson was counting on Danny to tire out in the end, which Danny did, but by that point Danny had pulled away too much ahead in the scorecards.

Lucas Martinez Danny's riding a wave of luck and gift decisions for quite awhile. I thought Peterson would beat him, but Peterson disappointed me a little. I like him and he came on, but he found out he could overpower Danny when he went after him. he gave Danny too much respect for his power. In round 9 Lamont came on and did well. I expected him to dominate the next 4 rounds the same way. He probably won those last 4 or at least 3 of the 4, but he played around too much even in those last rounds. When Garcia threw a 3 or 4 punch combination, sometimes Lamont would duck under them and he avoided all of those shots. That should have been the key to him winning the fight. He was hesitant to go right at Garcia, and Danny was hitting him on the way in. Peterson should have bent forward in an exaggerated crunch, just as he did when Garcia threw those combinations. Bent over at the waist, Lamont could have rushed in under Danny's shots. Anything Garcia landed while Peterson was bent over couldn't have hurt him. Once inside, he could get off his shots without fear of getting caught by a hook coming in. Garcia can't fight backing up nor inside very well, but Peterson was too hesitant in my opinion. Close fight, Paterson probably won but Danny is the young guy that they're trying to build up so you've got to beat him a little more than Lamont did. Now Danny is fighting punk ass Malignaggi; I thought he was done after Porter knocked him into the first row. Garcia has to step up sooner or later, I think that his dad is afraid to put him in with a solid, top level fighter. I would like to see Garcia fight Broner, or even Berto, or Matthysse again. Matthysse was beating Garcia until his eye closed up completely, and it was still a close fight. I believe Lucas would beat Danny in a rematch....

Impressive fight. Peterson frustrated him early and really imposed his willpower on danny toward the later rounds. Great fight tho!

Yea styles make fights, but watching this you see Garcia making some huge right hand misses and just swinging way wide. Spence is a patient, clean and smart fighter, and I believe he would start drawing those wild swings from Garcia while taking a step back just enough for him to miss and poppin him with a straight right or left hook.

I have no idea how DSG got the decision in this fight. I mean, sure, Garcia was the aggressor in the early rounds, but he wasn't landing man clean shots. Lamont was slipping those punches, he was rolling with most of the punches. DSG lost that fight. Hell, it sounded like DSG told Peterson he lost. Did anyone else hear that too?

Danny is a recipe fighter.His recipe is awesome but once you figure out Danny's recipe,he is harmless.He still has power but his recipe stays the same.Lamont figured out the recipe too late but fought to a draw.Good fight looking forward to Spence vs Garcia.

I'm a fan of Garcia but I thought Peterson won. Same as when he fought Herrera. Garcia needs to improve his footwork so he can use his combinations with a moving target

Ikram Choudhary very close fight he earned either a one point win draw or one point loss..peterson started slow and danny showed heart being beat up the way he was and tired late to still make round 11 close until the end..i'd favor a draw here, but u gotta fight 12 rounds if your peterson not just 6...with that being said some early round had no clear cut winner..good fight and they should do it again at 147 real soon

I was really impressed with Peterson and hope they fight again cuz he was dominating the fight once he started walking Garcia down. Anyone who fights Garcia has to be constantly aware of that great left hook (just ask Amir Khan) and I think Peterson actually showed him too much respect. In the outside fight Peterson chosen for the first 8 rounds he was making Danny look bad at times throwing wild punches that were missing by a mile but at the same time Lamont wasn't landing anything big either and when you fight outside like that you always risk the judges seeing it as running (like the Canello vs Lara fight). The biggest thing that Peterson now regrets is seeing how successful he was, absolutely man-handling the supposed boxer-puncher in Garcia. So I personally agree with the decision my logic being that although Peterson was more impressive he gave away too many rounds, especially that 10th round I think it was when he showboated for nearly the full 3 minutes and threw very few punches. Do you agree?

JParks1981 yea i agree but also Peterson lost becuz he didnt really throw alot of punches in the beginning rounds like Garcia did he did win like 2 or 3 rounds but he didnt dominate the fight at all but Garcia just need to work on his defense a lil bit more tho. But the judges scored it rite just like they do in the mayweather fights whoever lands the most power punches overall will eventually win the fight by points.

mujahideentakeoverinshaallah rahman You and me are the only 2 that predicted Peterson would win. I've been saying for awhile Garcia can't fight worth a shit. He's got no footwork, slow hands, no defense, he falls apart when under pressure, what does he have? He has a strong left hook,....that's it. One punch shouldn't beat any top shelf fighter. Peterson let him off the hook. I believe Peterson won, but I was screaming at Peterson to go after him and whip him down. People have overrated Garcia because they don't look at each of his fights. Matthysse was beating him, but in the 5th round his eye closed up. He still almost won, if his eye didn't close he would have beat Danny. Khan was beating the hell out of Garcia until one wild left hook caught glass jaw khan. Garcia threw that hook with his eyes closed. The fact is Danny can't out box anyone, he has survived on his left hook , luck, and some stolen decisions. He straight up lost to Herrera, but they stole the win in Danny's home country. That fight wasn't even close. Herrera beat him because he knew he could out box him. Garcia lost confidence after the Herrera fight, there's no other reason for his team to match him with Salka next,.........he needed a confidence booster. When I saw Peterson stand up and beat Khan fighting hard, I knew he could beat Garcia also. The only guys Garcia beat was an over the hill Morales and Zab Judah. Even Zab gave Garcia hell went he went after him late in their fight. Peterson started attacking Danny with movement as he came forward. He was dodging his way inside, and Danny is slow and not very coordinated so he couldn't stop Peterson. Once Peterson realized that, he beat the hell out of Garcia for 3 or 4 rounds in a row. There's no way peterson should have lost that fight; he was bombing Garcia with some hard shots from the 9th to the 12 th rounds. How can you watch Peterson beat the hell out of Danny round after round into the closing bell, then say he lost? Peterson clearly won the last 4 rounds, so he needed only 2 of the remaining 8 rounds to secure a draw. Did Peterson win at least 2 of those 8 rounds? Hell yes he did, and truth be known he won 3 or 4 of those rounds, enough to get the win. Danny is the 'rising star', and Peterson is considered an older guy with no big future for them to hype. What's the result of those facts; they give any decision to Garcia, even a decision that's not very close. Ask Herrera what he thinks. I'm upset with Peterson though, he and his team made out like Danny was a ferocious knockout artist. They gave him too much respect, giving Danny a little confidence that Peterson took back later. If Peterson stayed on Garcia all night, dodging and ducking his way inside, Garcia would not have finished the fight. I'm interested to see who they fight next. His dad knows Danny isn't performing that well, so I think he'll be afraid to put danny in with a real fighter. Peterson accomplished one thing,.......he exposed danny as being helpless if you go after him throwing a lot of punches. Danny gets panicky and he has no answer when he's under attack. I think Thurman, Broner, Matthysse( in a rematch), Bradley, Chavez, Guerrero, Ortiz, and even guys like Collazo , Berto, and several other guys would beat Danny up. All those I named will be avoided I believe, at least for a year or two.

Peterson still pulls away from punches with his left hand low. That should have been corrected as an amateur.

Danny said c'mon, Peterson stands there in front of him in round 6 and Danny still don't throw that many punches🤷🏿‍♂️

Peterson clearly out boxed Garcia but didn't land any heavy shots. The judges were scoring on affective aggression, clean punching and defense so I see why the gave it to Garcia but from a boxing stand point Peterson took him to school.

Lol... He landed good punches but Danny was throwing the more judge persausing crowd pleasing punches and being aggressive early in the fight. I been watching boxing for a long time and it's all politics. This just a scenario " a man could hit 3 times cut your eye, swell your lip and bust your nose " but you whipped his ass. Not saying that's what happened here but you get my drift so sometimes bruises don't tell the fight. They clearly gave the fight to Danny

danny Cherry garcia is overrated and at best, a C class fighter.... He knows he lost... How many warnings the ref supposed to give without taking a point. danny had 8 warnings for low blow and he got no point taken away.... Garcia's heart and punching power have got him through, but he needs to work in his hand speed defense and his footwork. Hes always looked slow to me.

Peterson won 8 or 9 rounds easily. There's not an inkling in my mind that Spence wouldn't be able to do this and possibly stop Danny. Danny doesn't have a good inside game, more like an intermediate fighter

Some boxing fans favor flat footed aggression to boxing.When fighters are figuring out an opponents power,speed,and timing,the best way to it is by boxing.Lamont had to pick up on Danny's flaws in his defense and pick his spots. Lamont picked up on Danny need to be set to throw off his combos so he stop allowing Danny to get set but first Lamont wanted to see all the angles Danny like to use. Once Lamont was sure he had Danny's rythum down,he started turning up his offense mixing it up but also keeping Danny frustrated by boxing some and standing his ground some. Going into deep waters Lamont knew Danny didn't have an inside game but Lamont spent the first half figuring how to bypass Danny's mid range power.Lamont wore Danny down so he could go through Danny's mid range attack to fight on the inside.By round 2 Lamont was slipping Danny's left right hooks and shooting in-between in spots prodding at Danny's defense gaining intel for later rounds. Danny understood that Lamont gameplan was on point cause Danny mid range attack couldn't keep Peterson off of him.That when Danny started pushing Peterson down.Danny started backing up because he knew his power wasn't there for the later rounds.Danny couldn't bluff Lamont as he came on strong.Lamont could feel in Danny's punches he was gassing out. Peterson took alot of punishment to get the data he needed so he only had the energy catch up in the fight.I would say this was a draw at best but Danny got the nod.Lamont ran out of time but he caught up to tie in my opinion.
