Well its very late here for macks, so I thought I would go off and get the last of the flood and the first of the ebb. There was a few macks on the last of the flood, but the ebb was a waste of time. I should have been earlier!

I wouldnt say well done, I only had a few. I needed to get more of the flood tide
We always towed along when tide was slack

might have done, I was meant to edit that out! The box that the macks go into had moved, so they shot in the well, flapped and 3 went over the back.

Most of them were a nice size, I haven't had a fresh Mackerel in years. Must be 40 year ago I used to go boat fishing.

You cant beat really fresh macks. Less than 24 hours old and they are superb
Lazy sod😂 it was all winter hand lines with 36 hooks 300 stone a man back in my day😂

hahha brilliant. I wish we had the macks here, only dribs and drabs now
best eating fish in the sea if gutted as soon as poss, just a shame you never see them on the menu in pubs or reserants ect

Yes, the fresher the better with mackerel. A fresh mackerel is one of the best fish to eat. Most people want something in a packet now, they place in the oven
