Stickers was a very unique deer. I can see how he could easily kill other bucks with those massively long tines. I don’t really agree with hunting fenced-in deer but there has to be some deer management to keep the herd healthy. The average person can’t afford to hunt on fenced-in ranches where you are pretty much guaranteed to take home a trophy. If you have the funds to hunt these places go for it. I think it takes away the whole experience of scouting and planning that makes the hunt for a trophy buck so exciting and memorable.

I quit hunting because of the cost when I moved to Arizona from Northern Oregon. I am not a fan of the lottery draw-only hunts and I live on a budget that does not allow me to spend the money on a license and a draw application to HOPE I get to hunt. Of course, I start watching your shows again and now I want to go hunting. The sad fact is I've let my body get so danged out of shape I am not sure I can handle the physical requirements of hunting as I remember it. Ahh well. My finances are better now and I am going to a gym so maybe I'll be able to hunt next year! I'd love to go on a hog hunt with my muzzleloader (Sidelock traditional type) in Texas someday.

Considering 90% of hunters hunt from a blind/ stand over a bait pile I would say someone paying to hunt the same way is no different. Not even gonna give a response for your ignorant comment about a zoo, that argument is pathetic at best. I can walk out of my door and see 10-15 deer walking around in the woods and shoot them off of my porch, that doesn't make them "pets" or whatever made up nonsense you wanna call them. @Kevin Setting bait to hunt animals has been done since man starting hunting, get off your high horse and back to reality... A food plot/ pile is not illegal where I'm from, if it is where you are form you can thank your government for controlling you even more. I've seen every excuse made by these ignorant comments and their made up definition of hunting, I assure you they aren't the majority. Fact is the majority of hunters do hunt over bait/ food plots, nothing you say changes that. I said nothing about shooting "penned" animals, nice of you to make that up. I have seen many elk hunts and most are 400-600yrd shots, the skill is in the shooter at that point, not stalking the animal. We don't sneak around with recurve bows anymore ( th majority doesn't). @Kevin No hang up on modern guns, it's the accuracy that has increased on factory rifles a lot. Even a cheap Savage Axis will shoot sub moa with factory ammo now. I don't hunt ranches like these guys but I refuse to talk down about them for hunting the way they want. As long as it's legal and a quick kill that is what should matter most. Not putting down fellow hunters because they hunt different than I do. Where I live everyone hunts over a bait pile, it's been that way since forever and is considered normal. You only get so many tags a year so why not make the most of them and stock our freezer with good quality meat as well. It's not like deer numbers are low lol. I blind hunt and stalk hunt, depends on where I am. Not trying to be an ass, I just hate seeing hunters hate on each other for hunting a different way than they do. We get enough crap from the anti-hunters, we shouldn't be fighting amongst ourselves.
