Hungarian M90 Camouflage Effectiveness

Ойын-сауық

In this video we look at the effectiveness of the Hungarian M90 Camouflage pattern in a Woodland Environment during the Summer time (North Texas woods). This video will consist of numerous scenes where each will begin with a concealed stationary position (both with & without the use of vegetation), followed by a movement phase out of the initial position. The purpose of the video is to give the viewer a chance to see the individual camouflage pattern and how it looks and blends into this environment. There will be varying degrees of how much of the uniform will be exposed to the viewer. Some scenes will only expose little more than perhaps a hat, while other scenes will have virtually no vegetation covering.
For more information about this particular pattern, please visit this website:

As a hungarian, it's fun to see our camo in this video. We call this pattern 'boci', it means cow basically. It's not so effective in our enviroment, it's too dark. But the new hungarian camo pattern, the HunCam got introduced this year, so i hope a few years later the whole Hungarian Army will use that instead of the m90.

The high contrast macro pattern works for me ! A lot of these darker patterns tend to collect shadows and present an outline of the target ... but they do work great when hit with full sunshine. But still .... its a damn fine looking piece of kit that Id love to add to my collection. Very unique, and (might I add) gives the wearer an intimidating appearance. +1 for that. Great series of videos, getting better all the time. Thanks.

Good Video Brent.....as usual, nice to see such a variety of the world's camo patterns actually tested in THE SAME terrain....and lets face it...unless people have served in the forces and received training and briefings on "identify Friend or foe" uniforms etc...chances are...not many have seen some of these camo patterns before... This M90 really shows the British influence with the dot dithering along some of the edging, and the pattern seems more reminiscent of US Woodlands...with VERY dark colouration... To me...it seems to dark, far to much dark brown, more of a shadow blend then foliage blend....... Cheers mate.....

The RAT boot was supposed to become the standard issue boot and replace all others. However, that is no longer the case and will no longer replace the other authorized Marine Corps combat boots. My only experience with RAT boots are they fell apart on me after 3 months of a work up and one month in country. This was back in 2011 so I'm sure they are better made now. However, I don't care for them and will continue to wear the other authorized boots.

This camo is a bit to dark to work properly, except of 2 or 3 scenes, i've seen you right away. It would be a good camo for night, dusk or dawn usage because it works best if there are some dark spots for you to crouch in or maybe in a more muddy terrain.

Did you know the Hungarians are going to phase this camo out? I mean, this one has its benefits but it's a derivative of a pre-WW2 pattern that hasn't changed all that much, they tweaked the colors and went from smooth swirls to more jagged analog shapes. Look up the new Multicam Knockoff Huncam they're showing off. It's kind of a lovechild of Multicam and M90 and though I hate to see another army go that route, the Hungarians need an image boost with newer equipment. I just hope they keep this around for a while, and it continues to gave a legacy like M81 where it sees use where needed in different forms. Love your vids, I collect camo as well. I was able to snag top and pants of Saudi National Guard camo, just like your desert cammies but I think it's a superior uniform cut. I like the colors a bit better too.

The are only really 2 bad choices for camo: 1) UCP 2) Blaze Orange. Every camo other than UCP is a good choice. The new HunCam is an adaptation of Multi-Cam. Multi Cam is a jack of all trade camo, good for everything, but not really excellent for anything outside of Afghanistan.Hungary could have fielded a camo that was green with large sunflowers printed all over it and done just as well.
