AOR II Camouflage Effectiveness

Ойын-сауық

In this video we look at the effectiveness of the U.S. Navy’s AOR II camouflage pattern in a Woodland Environment during the summer time (North Texas woods). This video will consist of numerous scenes where each will begin with a concealed stationary position (both with & without the use of vegetation), followed by a movement phase out of the initial position. The purpose of this video is to give the viewer a chance to see the individual camouflage pattern and how it looks and blends into this environment. There will be varying degrees of how much of the uniform will be exposed to the viewer. Some scenes will only expose little more than perhaps a hat, while other scenes will have virtually no vegetation covering. If your interested in quality American made web gear in this pattern, please visit my good buddy John at UW Gear’s website: www.uwgearinc.com/
Thanks for watching!

Multicam might have a slight edge in desert it it still is far too dark anyway, with just about any desert camo beating it.

    Another outstanding effort ! It looks like Mil Cam Pattern designers are finally seeing how vertical and slanted light in woodland environments is a real thing. Very effective and it seems to equally grab both the shadow and the light which allows the human figure to break up. In some ways, it's like turning original Tiger Stripe vertical and it becomes something totally different and effective. A side note about Vietnam Era Tiger Stripe is a special olive green dye that was used. I was told it was localized but if you research patterns and colors from this time and region, you might find the most perfect color of O.D. Green ever produced. I know that's a big statement but It did exist and was probably organic from locally blended materials. Modern synthetic chemical dyes pale in comparison.

  • @smesaric

    @smesaric

    Actually, objective tests were done at west point, and they determined a horizontal pattern performed 5-50% better than a vertical one. The only reason aor2 is vertical is because the marines got fussy because they didn't want people confusing marpat and aor2 so the navy rotated it.

    Great video Brent! Thanks again for all the work you put into these videos. It won't replace my Marpat woodland but you can kiss the Multicam goodbye.

    I know I said this a while back, but try legion forest, it’s made by Helikon-Tex. Also try total terrain pattern by Rothco,neither of those camouflages have reviews about them on YT. As always, nice video Brent, can’t wait to see more from you!

    After wearing these camies for 4 years, I never thought they would be this effective. Comparing it to the marines in the field with my squad I'm now realizing that it wasn't a camo issue that I could always pick out my sailors, but just the fact that they sucked at hiding themselves.

    Thanks for the video Brent, I was eyeing this pattern for a long time. Could you please make a video on one camo pattern within one season but under different light conditions (bright sun, sunset/sunrise, rain, night, etc) ? I would love to see how these affect camo effectivness.

    Probably one of the most effective patterns yet. I'm still a fan of ATACS.
