    with the air intake in the back from the ball valve, if you put the coal in the back end of that basket and then adding the chimini coal, would it let the fire spread to the other coals more. I ask because if it were a longer 16 hour cook you might have issues if the fire doesnt creep to the unlit coals as it cooks down.

    Awesome video bud!!! Great job! That smoker is on fire. I’ve been cooking on the WSM for 20 years and it’s time to upgrade! I’ve been thinking about a gravity fed but they are more expensive than these. Long Weekender vs Battle Box? I’m about to pull the trigger on the Long Weekender but maybe I should get the battle box? What do you think!??? Thanks!

    I was looking at a Traeger but now I'm looking at the Weekender. Have you, or can you, use lump charcoal and would you always add a chunk of wood for flavor? Do briquettes have more or less smoke flavor? So glad I found your channel!

  • @BBQiT

    @BBQiT

    4 жыл бұрын

    Both! They alllll work in the Hump! I've found that the flavor between lump and briquettes are pretty close. W B&B, who sources their own wood and never use construction scraps, they make their briquettes out of the the debris from the lump. Just like all their products are derived from the others. And you CAN FOR SURE smell a difference in their products, TRUST ME ON THAT!! Once you light it, you want to eat!!

    I'm about to pull the trigger on a lonestar offset. Have always wanted an offset cooker but, this looks pretty legit. I cook for large crowds and I wonder if these style cookers can handle my demand and if it can compare to an offset cooker when it comes to flavor? I might be switching up. Idk. Awesome video!

    LSG also has vertical cabinet cookers. I just picked up the LSG 30 offset cabinet. Went with that over the vertical cabinet because I like the fire management, hands on approach to cooking. It just allows for more personal control over final product outcome for me. The Humphreys, like the LSG vertical cabinets are much more of the set it and forget it (when you add a guru) than an offset. Can't go wrong with either by the looks of things. Good luck!

    @@BBQiT I actually saw one of these last September in Portland Or at a bbq competition class next to our both. So when you did your vid it was like " oh, so that's what that cooker was." I haven't used any B&B yet. Still need to place a order but I will in a week or two. Looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks.

    Howdy. So two quick things today. 1st- when are we going to see some cooks on that new wonderful smoker, I must admit that looks truly amazing for bbq competition and I'll be doing my first try at competition this year so I would like to see this in action. 2nd- I went to my local Walmart ( not a pleasurable experience) only to be told that is a third party order and they don't do that. So I guess I'm going to have to try a Ace Hardware but the closest is about 50 miles away. I'm wondering if I can just buy direct from B&B ? Sure would be easier then what I currently have to do. Have a great day.🌞

    Fantastic video. I am loving everything you are putting out there. Totally unrelated, but I am going to be grilling (or maybe boiling if it makes more sense) approximately 200 sausage poboys for a fundraiser for my son's BETA team at school. I have never grilled this kind of volume before, so any suggestions, tips, or advice would be very much appreciated.

  • @BBQiT

    @BBQiT

    Thanks bro!! So, for the sausages, try to grill them off the hot coals initially. (Depending on your cooking surface of course). So indirect to get them up to temp, then a lil direct grilling to finish if needed. If you just go direct heat, they will char and bust open too early, causing tons of grease and flames. Thanks for subscribing!!!!!
