I know that what I was thinking. Lets go back in time and tell our grandparents about 2016. They wouldn't believe and probably would be scared because of cancer and these weird technologies. I think it's only scary if it happened overnight humans will have time to get used to the idea and it would be considered normal. New stuff will be introduced slowly but quickly and we will think its normal.

I personally feel like that humans don't like change very much. When we space colonize the people living it will be like this is normal. Go back to 2016 majority of people are scared. Humans are scared of change. Some times though the change is fun and exciting to people.

I feel the same way. When people ask me if I’m afraid to die, I usually reply that I’m far more disappointed that I won’t be able to see all the amazing changes and innovations, and see how our species evolves and becomes pretty much immortal eventually. Even now, Quantum Mechanics is revealing some scary amazing things, and medical science is beginning to view aging and dying as ailments to be prevented and/or cured.

normaali ihminen a non organic Body needs no food , i could imagine stuff like an automatic recharge during "sleep" or whenever you take a break ( like watching TV or playing Games Biological immortality sadly wont help everyone , like i have a disease called HAE (Hereditary angioedema ) "just being able to live forever" wont cure it and honestly , i am sure the treatment will get alot better to the point its fast and painless , but why wait for something like that if i could just get a robotic body and another thing , when i was a child i had a quite rare autoimmune desease called Evans syndrom , due to the large amount of chemo therapies i had , i have no hair on top of my head ( on the side its ok , but not enough for a transplantation) i also have no spleen anymore , and since it took them a few years to cure me , my veins are in terrible conditions due to poisonous stuff that ran through them and me getting injections and these things they use to get infusions directly into the blood ( dont know the english name sadly) , my veins are in a terrible condition , everytime i have to go to the Hospital because of an HAE attack , they need atleast 3 attempts until they hit a vein that also doesnt just "close itself" and lastly , i am Transgender , but both my mother and doctors told me taking Hormones would be too dangerous , because of both HAE and also because of other reasons , unless theres a cure for hae i am not going to risk it ( i have a rather feminine body anyway (i have always been wearing girl Shoes because i have small feet ) so a female robot Body would be a far better solution for me

This question has come up for me many years ago, it was discussed amongst friends and basically it can't work, as soon as you die...you die, you can replicate your brain and it will act and think like you but it won't be you, think about it, however if you were to take your physical brain and place it in a robot even then would it still be you? Possibly? Or is there something missing? There's no scientific basis behind my thought or reasoning, I guess I feel like it wouldn't work in the sense that you'd be able to cheat death, call me naive but I feel like there's a missing piece if you did that, a soul? Call it what you will, interesting stuff none the less.
