The prestigious Galactic Council convenes to determine humanity's worthiness for inclusion. Without a human present, representatives dissect anecdotes of Earth's bewildering history, culture, and behavior. Each piece of evidence reveals humans' perplexing immunity to logic, leading to a heated debate about whether this curious species poses a threat or offers untapped potential. The Council ultimately declares humanity an enigma, too risky for membership at this time.

Ehh, your voice acting is good and clear, but.... That's about the only good thing here. The story it's self is poorly written, contradictory, and, requiring of an effort in suspension of disbelief, it simply gives no payout for. At it's base level, it neglects a baisic level, in the discussion of ai, it neglects any separation or appreciation for the three distinct concepts, of; intelligence, sentience, and sapience. Intelligence; the ability to abstract information, from large amounts of accumulated data, or, to display data rapidly. Sentience; to be aware of ones " self" , ounces limitations, abilities, and, role in the environment, as well as ones ability to effect the environment, to better achieve ones purposes, then through singular ability alone. Sapience; 4 basic characteristics; predictive modeling of scenarios, through various means, and, to guess at & plan for various outcomes, 2. Mimicry, through immigration or synthetic creation, of living things in ones environment, in order to better understand methods of interacting with it. 3. Extrapolation; the ability to look at past historical accounts, and, create possible outcomes for what could have been done differently, in order to create better outcomes in the future, and 4. Empathy; the ability to understand the motivations, short comings, and special abilities, of those different from ones self. They say that they themselves experimented with ai, to catastrophic effect, then, claim humanity with lack of forethought, in spite of having created fictions and modeling, in order to better prevent catastrophe. They chastise the loss of life in gladiatorial ancient sport, yet, both mock overpopulation decimating the planet, and, empathy to non sapient creatures. If they didn't value creatures radically different from them, they would never have evolved a concept to fly, let alone reach the stars. If they valued the group, they would ensure it's healthiest members, testing them the same way gladiatorial sports did. And, if they valued growth of the populace, they would not only adore cities, but, would not work with other members of the galactic community, as, they would instead pursue growing there own race. They LITERALLY had an alien mention the concept of evolution, yet, they seem to act as if the concepts of biodiversity, mutagens, and viruses, are foreign to them. As of there races are homogenous wholes, as of, they didn't have, and , couldn't conceive, of biological warfare, BEFORE unlocking there genome. They speak of altruism, yet, dismiss empathy, as illogical, while, describing sociopathy, the lack for forethought, which they were horrified at, as also foreign to them. The author clearly ether has, no concept of how society and socialization, philosophy, or, how the English language, or, any eurocentric language I could describe, works. The clearest point in which this is brought up, is the false presence the author gives, in calling the aliens " rational" , " diplomatic" , or " empathetic" , while, presenting humanity as irrational, with no socio cultural context, to justify it, instead of letting the characters actions and words speak for themselves, without such frivolous descriptors. Truly, ether this author performed not even the first session of edit and review, let alone the first three, to give themselves 4 options, as most do, or, they are some form of ai attempting to write the story, in which case.... Impressive, but, utterly lacking in contextual merrit. Else, the author should stick to writing post apocalyptic/ environmental stories, with little socialization, or " a boy and his dog" style stories, where, the main side characters, are non sentient or primitive creatures, which, only demonstrate specific qualities, as seen through the outlook of the pov character. Else, they should simply give up writing hfy. No middle schoolers book report, nore absurdist dinosaur pornography, has caused me such ire, as to treat it so unfavourably as this. Heck, " a pickle for the Knowing ones" , famed for it's lack of punctuation throughout the entirety of the book, has given me more joy to read. .... : /

That and they are giving negative talking points about humanity that their own council member races were censured for, meaning that their own collective is not as "peaceful and logical" as they are clearly trying to say they are compared to humanity. "Humans messing with bio engineering is dangerous!" "Werent (insert name of species)", recently might I add, censured for bio engineering and are already members of this "esteemed" council?" And the delegate giving the presentation was clearly biased and presented the majority of data that was only negative, and that being data that was primarily in the past, vs more recent changes, obviously in an attempt to sway the opinions of the council at large.

It depends really. no matter which version of history we choose... to review the amount of atrocities human kind have committed cannot be understated. The founding of what Human's would call this so-called modern age were come on the back of unrepentant exploitation, slavery and genocide. Kyrak delivered a brief explanation for what we could see under observation. Human's allow their own to Starve to the multitude of tens of thousands per day... in the name of some - with too much - to enjoy a life of what they would call "luxury.". That any member of the council could overlook what they do to themselves, to the only planet they have ever inhabited... and consider these greedy, and illogical creatures something that we could either trust, or control are truly foolish. Humanities leaders do not abide by the commandments of the Gods they claim themselves to serve, Nor do They listen to the proclamations of scientists they employ. Worst yet they will not listen to the will of their people that their governing bodies are meant to edify and protect. So we would add them to the council believe that they are prepared to follow the laws of the council - prepared to listen and be guided by what the term they use - A Foreign Power? It would be quire foolish of us to reject empirical evidence before us. That is simply, if humanity the tools, they would fan the flames of war to unseat us if it meant that they line their coffers with our planets natural resources, our technology, and land.

@@ireallyreallyhategoogle Over Generalization? I understand how Kyrak's decision may have appeared hasty. However their is no fault in Kyrak's research, Kyrak need not to lay out each and every instance of the failings of humanity - as there are too many leave room for any fair judgement. Kyrak did humanity a favor for not going deeper than he did - for several points in history would not only exclude humanity from a seat on the council... but warrant the complete annihilation of the species. More Warlike and bloodthirsty than any that currently hold a seat at the council, Humans have caused more destruction to themselves and their own planet than rogue AI were capable of doing in several galaxies. Humans were given a chance to prove they can be more than their history and recent events suggest they are. A chance that is much more than they deserve, considering that if they do not change they could destroy themselves, and take half of the galaxy with them...

I think they were more concerned with the fact that humans tend to experiment without much regard to consequences. They were thinking more of worst case scenarios than best case. And looking at the vast majority of what most human technological innovations are put towards, many more of our breakthroughs are typically first put to use in our military than in any life saving applications as a trend.

We as a race are still too tribalistic and selfish to be accepted into a galactic community, but our curiousity, willingness to learn, and adaptability to what we learn are traits worth keeping is on a galactic radar, at least until armed forces and politicians get involved. Then the council might split humanity between the curious and the tribal, leave one on earth to rot while welcoming the other with open arms. This is coming from a real life alien (autistic person). Humanity cast me out at a young age, so i got to study humans as though i was an observer sent from another world.

Contrary to popular beliefs, the Football War wasn't started due to the match itself. It just so happen that tensions between El Salvador and Honduras reached a peak during that time, and the football riots may or may not be the straw that broke the camel's back. The coincidence was amusing, but not as impactful as one might think to the overall conflict.
