Huge Upgrades for the Crusher Impala! Will It Break? | Roadkill Garage | MotorTrend
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Freiburger and Dulcich give some much-needed love to the '69 Chevy known as the Crusher Impala by way of a new 9-inch rear and a less squatty suspension overhaul. The guys also fix a major throttle issue that finally unlocks full use of the supercharged 498ci big block before hitting the road for monster burnouts.

@@williamharford1136 yes also it should belong to Marty and moog 100% ownership I'm not sure how it all worked out I'm guessing motor trend footed the bill for everything and just said they could have it knowing they wouldn't try and ship it home but they should now
Dulcich is one of the coolest car dudes on the planet. He totally relates to us ordinary guys.

All your cars are so very southwest rust free clean! This impala looks ratty to so many people but dang is it nice underneath! Saw this car in person at Pontiac Michigan while on display, along with other projects and they are all so freaking rust free clean!
The rolling burnouts are sick!! Love this build!!! It’s awesome
Very nice video, Men....Thank you so much for a very down to earth approach to drag racing. Personally, I am an old retired NHRA drag racer with most of my experience with a 426 HEMI Torqueflite and a 427 / 425 Turbo 400 Biscayne. I am talking 1969-1972. Nothing but fun. You brought back some terrific memories and I thank you again !!!!!
Steve makes all his fixes look so easy.
Dulcich fixes the door in about 5 seconds....brilliant!
Those slot mags are some of the sexiest wheels ever made, the slot mags make any car or truck look great. They really are a fit all wheel
That gravel to street burnout was a great test 👌
Looks like Dulcich got some new pullouts.👍🏽👍🏽

It’s cool that you’re loading some of these older episodes up to KZread now.
Many moons ago, (1980) my neighbor got his first car 69 Caprice triple black 427 buckets/console GM exec car. He brought it over for a tune up, so I give it a performance tune and out to Woodward ave. for a real test. I start with the well known upgrade of air filter lid flip, turned out to be a very strong running car. I gave a few others a good spanking to think about. I tried everything to buy the car from him,he drove it away to college and never saw it again.
That boat is my FAVORITE build 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Love the drone shot burn out
I’ve had the battery do the same thing on a 74 Nova in 1984 after hitting a speed bump leaving high school. Also acid is acid not a caustic. Caustic will neutralize acid.
Oh wow the Impala is back
Please let Steve drive ...he will not break things ! AND HE can fix ANYTHING !
I had a crusher 69 impala i took out the 327 and put a corvette 427 in her. WOW what a difference… good fun show. Need more of you two guys.

…… then you woke up?
If you're running anything other than solid engine mounts that BBC is just twisting the snot out of the stock column shifter linkage. And that's why you're having shift issues. And yes a floor mount shifter will correct the issue plus it's more accurate and fun to bang gears with one and it looks Kool!!!!! But you should still run solids!........ Love the Crusher Imp! Cheers.
The rolling burn out was awesome.
my favorite roadkill car since it first showed up
I love how they put the rad music behind Dulcic’s dorkiest suit up ever. Lmaoooo
Great content! All the roadkill garage cars are awesome.Nice to see the crusher Impala getting some upgrades.
Loved it! Really loved it. Watched it with my dad
I leally like watching the builds get new upgrades. Keep up the great content!
I just love the rat rods, they make the greatest/coolest drag cars of all. Even when the 4-door is used for a rat rod dragger they look so bad to the bone. Save the pretty shiny 2-doors for the trailers and car shows.

My grandfather had a 4 door. I miss that car almost as much as I miss him. It was a special car to him cuz it was the first new car he ever owned and bought with cash.

Bring back MotorTrend outside the U.S!
I was relieved when David said that the supplier installed an Eaton Truetrac diff. instead of a Limp-Slip diff. or worse yet, a Locker gear set. The car is going to be quick & more controllable, i.e., more fun. Thanks for the great video guys.

a truetrac is a limited slip...
Honestly the crusher impala is my favorite car in the fleet, it needs more attention.
David…you are definitely gifted at doing the best burnouts the world has ever seen.
Crusher camero to Oz for summer nats would be an interesting idea...
This car does the absolute most epic burnouts!!!! Long live the crusher impala!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Steve, your door handle fix might be my favorite Roadkill deal! So cool. So that's what those enormous wrenches are for....door handle adjustment tools! Who knew? If you guys ever need a carb adjustment sledgehammer, mine might still be laying around here somewhere.....
best car on roadkill in my opinion glad to see it back
I’m a Mopar guy but I really appreciate this thing. It’s tough as
If that's a TH-400 transmission in that (I'm sure it is) I would pull out the "vacuum modulator" valve, and clean it up. Either that or your "governor valve" is sticking. Either one of those will prevent a TH-400 from shifting.

I love these old school style of videos
Nice to see both tires on fire. Not that the one legged one mile peel wasn't epic in its own right
That is just SICK! Rolling Burnouts: 10/10
Thanks and respects from Canada
Great episode, appreciate it!
Shows how badass those valve covers are!!
Great stuff love watching you guys
12:08 Very nice photography/drone work and an equally awesome burnout. This car is my new hero.
I’ve definitely launched a battery into my headers before. It took out the plastic oil pressure line too and made a nice smokey mess.

I lost one into a fan blade once, the battery tray was so rusty it came right off it’s mounts!
Wow you guys at Motorweek know how to have fun.
Great show, I love that car.
cant wait to see it all sorted out.
Would have been nice if you made it that good for mighty car modes
Hey freiberger I liked you at pickup van and 4wd magazine. I like how you write even the back page of hotrod
Awesome burnout before they got to the track love it need more lol
Love the crusher Impala!!!!
I was waiting for the Impala it to come back
11:20s at 119 is better than I thought y'all would throw down on this episode. That's running pretty strong. I imagine the car weighs 4100 with driver? Years ago we jumped an old 67 Ford pickup with no bed over railroad tracks and tossed the battery in the fan. It looked like manatee's in Florida being cut up by a boat prop.
Had a few 2 door hardtop from GM , LOVED THEM ALL , GREAT ROAD CRUISERS
Great Host Team
The angle of the dangle is directly proportionate to the heat of the meat.... What I was thinking about your door handle issue... GREAT VIDEO!
It'd be real cool if yall still posted new episodes here after they aired like you used to
My favorite car on the show
Absolutely LOVE this car!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the crusher Impala. Can't blame the battery for that one though 😉
One of my favorite cars ever.
Is Discovery finally realizing that Roadkill needs to come back to KZread??
amazing ride !!
The Dulcich rules 🤙🏼
Sweet pala boys
i will be watching for it,,,,the next video!!
It's nice to be able to watch on here. I had to cancel Motortrend on demand because videos constantly had connection errors, It was unwatchable.
Love you Knuckleheads!
Woot! Now it’s a Two-Tire Fryer!
Love you guys. The Company, not so much. Gday from Oz.
Bring back road kill 😮💨
Awesome 👍😎.
Love this show
I like the zip tie tip. I was wondering if running 2 or 3 zip ties around the axel tube in between it and the brake line might prevent a future leak from the brake line rubbing on the axel tube. Just thinking. But then again, the next time we see this car it will be totally taken apart again. 😆
Get that thing a floor shifter asap! Rolling burnouts for life.
you guys ROCK hahaha
This car is totally awesome
11:40 was waiting for Dulcich to say fix the lighter 😂 Darned if that clip didnt look like a blues brothers scene.
I love this channel.
It's a two door! You' are already 150 points ahead of the game!
I had a 70 Impala (same basic body) My battery did the exact same thing. Jumped into the alternator and acid went everywhere. Took the coating off my Holley carb and stained the aluminum intake. I can completely relate……
I liked you two on this show
Out of all the cars you guy have done the crusher impala is my number 1 and the vanishing paint was the second. But the vice grip guy will do good things for that car.
I see a battery relocation kit with a dry cell battery in the future 🤔....
The crusher impala its the Best car from roadkill sounds so badass with the blown 498ci big Block chevy i hope a drag race vs the roadkill og muscle truck vs crusher cámaro and hope bring back the f bomb camaro to roadkill
Love Steve's new teeth
A few of my friends in h.s. had impalas that were pretty good considering the beefynous.
That socket welded to flatbar is why I always have a set of cheap sockets and wrenches around. I don't care if I take a grinder or welder to pittsburgh tools.
excellent video guys !! so David, when you no longer want this car I'll be interested in purchasing it from you. thanks
That is one evil impala
With all you know about what parts to use do you think you could write more articles or a book? If you have time.
Classic roadkill. Something always have to end up broken or leaking or it's just not roadkill!
I had a 66 caprice with a 396 and a 4spd, the car wasn't fast but it was fun!!!
Chevelle 396. Cruising down the road, I hit the gas. 3 seconds later, explosion and smoke but the engine ran fine. The factory battery hold down let the battery tip over. the positive post laid on the valve cover and burned a hole and the spark ignited the oil fumes. Both valve cover gaskets blew out and the oil ran over the exhaust manifolds. Now I always use a safety strap.
Can someone get Dulcich a GD Tig welder already?!
It's flying brother... what was the 60 foot time...it looked like it picked up the left front wheel
