Paddy- I absolutely love Sumai Side quest series. This episode was really good asking Flora & Note about their living in Maenom. Thank you for highlighting local businesses on Koh Sumai. The second hand sneaker store was fantastic and a hidden gem most of us wouldn't know about. Although you might not like being sidelined due to the situation, you are really helping a lot of us gain a better insight as to the real Koh Sumai. Most channels focus on bars, the girls, cheap eats ETC. Your new direction is refreshing and I appreciate it.

Hi Paddy. Brilliant video, great questions asked and answered. The food looked amazing. I remember getting caught in a Tropical Storm in 2011 on Samui and it flooded Chaweng where i was staying, the water was knee deep and the power was out for a few days, it also shut the airport. I still love Samui and can't wait to get back. Thank You. 🙏😎👍

Nice feast guys! I recently stayed at Replay Condo just next door and Chao Ruea was my go-to, love it! Hit Chi a few times, bit pricey but nice chill place with good food & grooves. Also recommend Noi Friendly just across from Chi. Very nice family run & great food!

@@o.fenton8636 I do appear briefly at times but the channel isn't about me (and I'm a crap presenter;) rather what's in front of the camera. Vloggers like Paddy are far more gifted storytellers & fiilmers and do a top job of both :)

This is a must when you're in Asia - picnic spread ON the beach.

Soft shell crab 🦀 😋 yum yum

Great video Paddy. The catfish is actually cooked twice. I think its steamed and dried. Then processed very fine and then fried. Its virtually fish floss. Keep up the good work

Really liked hearing Note and Flora's take on year round living on Koh Samui, I think the batter your thinking of on the catfish is Panko breadcrumbs, at least that's what I thought it looked like. Nice video.

👋🏻Hey Paddy, your girlfriend( sorry don’t know her name), Flora and Note we love Koh Samui and miss it very much. We really enjoyed staying at the Mana Thai hotel in Lamai and there was an amazing restaurant that a local got us hooked on it was called Moonlight Restaurant in Lamai as well. You really need to check it out the food was amazing and reasonably priced. The street food in the Lamai area was awesome too. Stay sane and keep the awesome videos coming! ❤️🇨🇦🍻

Great Video. I've been to that restaurant it's really good! When I'm in Koh Samui, I just rent a car. If you go on some of the local groups on Facebook, you can find people renting cars. It's pretty cheap. I can't ride a motor bike at all! I'm from Los Angeles and I didn't find it difficult to drive there. But when the rain starts sometimes you can't make it down the road to bo phut from my house for a couple of days. Not too bad if you are stocked up on groceries and beer. Lol. Also, normally there is a pick up truck/bus that goes around the ring road and it's pretty cheap. They are for tourists, so I'm not sure if it is running this year. But normally it is. That's what I did before renting a car. Cheers

Stunning location, good to note for anyone considering living on Thailand on a small budget and under the age of 50 would be visa costs and medical insurance. This would be around 6k Thai Baht a month so 30k a month doesn’t leave much. Just a thought

Hi Paddy, I live in West Bangkok for 20,000 Baht a month currently. I live in my girl friend's condo so my rent is zero. Before I was paying 10,000 Baht rent so your friends are spot on. Yet another great video, thanks.

Ahhhhhh I cant wait to go. I'm thinking 1 to 3 months at first. Im still waiting until more of the restrictions are lifted so I can fully enjoy it... or should I just go now? I don't know whether to rent a fancy place or just wing it and go wherever. Would I be fine using 2500 to 3k usd a month for budget or should I alot more for a more enjoyable time ? . (Can go over but then I dont meet my monthly saving goals.)
