One from Stu Crompton?
Man I wish I was there. Laying out a old wall with reused bricks and hanging with your dad priceless. Awesome Stu. Enjoy and thanks for a great set of videos.
There is nothing better than working along side with your dad. Moments will cherish for the rest of life. Master craftsmanship. Job well done.
Master craftsmen doing what they do best. Perfection!! 👌
Does KC not remember building that when he wor a lad Stu 😉, looking nice now 💯, lovely little 🐸 or maybe a toad 🐸💕
Fantastically neat job as usual stu ! Perhaps it would of been better to use hydraulic lime (nhl) for the build rather than hydrated as there’s then no cement involved in the job and more like the original build
Stu and KC it's looking ace! Actually love working with old bricks and lime motar. Going to look grand again 👍
Another great video from you guys. Thanks and keep them coming soon. 👍
Outstanding, lads. So glad I have re-subscribed to the channel! Looks incredible. 👏👏👏

Nice to see you and KC back
It warms the technical heart to see workmanship like this.
Fantastic top bit of brickwork Stu 👌
Lovely hearing the birdsong.
Why are you doing recessed pointing on the new brickwork?

Stu you are truly skilled, amazing talent
Nice to see the Stu Crompton trowel in action
Just amazing with your skills and craftsmanship. Please teach more young people your skills, they need to have a value.
I worked as a brick tender one summer back in the late ‘70’s to pay for my college education. A nicely built brick wall is a thing of beauty.
nice work and saved the frog 👏
Looking good Stu looking good 👍
We call them story poles.. love the work you guys do..✌️
Just cracking work as always
Nice 👍 I remember in the 80's working in Germany, there was me Dennis , Oz , Neville and Bomber we had to build a wall like that on a site in Dusseldorf.👍👏

@@Stucrompton1 nooooo!! Make sure you bash the vtec 1 last time though
Question please regarding patio doors being fitted as you have done them in previous videos. My question is I'm having a patio door fitted in 2 weeks, do you fix to a metal lintel above? Or is that a no no. Is screwing to either side of the brickwork sufficient to stop frames being loose and possible movement?
Very good!
Master craftsman, you are so good
Korean bricklayer is rooting for you :D
When you do work like this fixing old and matching that's what craftsmanship is looks great
I've seen it all now...using profiles on radius work. Are you scared of plumb points? 😅
Is that the old English garden wall bond there?
I'd have bent down every 2/3 course and eye'd them through . Different strokes for different folks I suppose . A ggod job Stu . 👍🏴
@Stucrompton1

I have done that, trouble is you have to walk around the wall because the radius is that big so you can’t eye it in stood in one spot.

@@Stucrompton1 You can spot them through...... Trust me . I've been doing it for 48 years . Each to their own . 👍🏴

To eye the lines in you have to see both corners, how can you see down the lines of both corners on a curved wall. Genuine question, im open to learning.

@@Stucrompton1 You spot them through Stu . It ain't rocket science mate . Same way as using 'traveling levels' . Very acurate if you learn how to do it mate . I've done countless radius walls using this method . Trust your eyes . 🏴
Soon parkour guys will jump from this wall beautifully 😊
Got the same boots.. worst I've ever owned , lace's are shite. Stu's quality of work is on point as always 👍
That kinda looks like the entry gate area to a royal residence?
Black Rifle & Scope look to be the best option ?.
Is it a true radius or a french curve or accelerated curve?
@Stucrompton1

its a true radius neil
Hi noticed you are doing Frogs down.. any reason for this other than saving Lime mortar??
@Stucrompton1

I’m matching up to how it was originally layed. I think it’s because the beds are so thin 3-5 mm that’s how they did it back then.

Very interesting project, would be nice to understand how much a job like this cost… time , materials etc… you can leave out you profit if that going to be an issue 😵💫😂

Hi Stu, what’s the reason for raking out the joints?
@Stucrompton1
24 күн бұрын
if you had to guess what would you think? :)
@carl9976
24 күн бұрын
I’m not a bricky so I have no idea 😂 but If I had to guess you’re going to rake out the old joints as well and point it all up together to match.. or leaving it all raked out..
@chrisanderson8578
24 күн бұрын
I also have no idea. Do you rake it out then add a mortar layer on top that's a better colour match?
@richardcovell1707
24 күн бұрын
@@Stucrompton1 Here's my guess. You're using modern mortar for strength and code requirements, but using historical mortar to point the joints for authenticity and historic requirements. Close??
