    I agree but someone is removing it at the castle-like ruins. When I first visited years ago, it was worse.

    Thank you for the tour! I have MS and can no longer take long hikes. I was so happy to be able to discover this gem through you. 💕

    I love the video. Never will understand why people must vandalize a historic site or set it ablaze.

    This is about 2 miles from my house. We tried to visit. The tiny parking lot was overflowing as police were placing tickets on the many cars parked on Skyline drive.

    That's why I had to get there early. Last time we were there, we struggled for a spot. But this day as I was leaving, a cop was parked in the lot. You're lucky to live so close! I'm originally from up there...about 30 minutes from here. Best to visit during the week or early in the morning...but I can imagine it'll get worse when it gets warmer.

    What a great video. I just hiked up there today. My 2nd try to reach the castle. I am a new to hiking and found the trail difficult for me. However we powered through and it was worth the effort. I really appreciate the video even more because I can relive the experience that I was almost too exhausted to appreciate. Thank yo!

    A water tower that has a door that’s almost level with the floor?

  • @RusticVentures

    Yes, it most likely had internal workings. If you google old stone water tower, they are very similar. Wright’s Tower in Medford Massachusetts for example.

    Is the castle atop a mountain? I wonder how they filled the pool with water?

    The water tower, which isn't far from there, is 200 feet higher in elevation then the pool and ruins area.

    Not being smart. I hear the fife narrative, but no fire damage, no smoke damage. Great video though.

    I just found this video and I find it very cool. I don’t understand how people know of a historical site and then go and put graffiti on it

    Couldn’t agree more. The defacing of the ruins is a huge distraction from its beauty.

    Some give Wanaque or Oakland as the town it was in. Trying to figure out what road their driveway would have come out to. Foxcroft maybe? Is it still there?

  • @RusticVentures

    @RusticVentures

    Skyline Drive was the road. Foxcroft was the original name of the mansion.

    I totally understand that! A lot of time with ruins that are in parks, a lot of fire damaged debris would have been removed. Thankfully, there are people maintaining this ruin as they are actively removing graffiti from the castle-like ruins.

    If you're really interested in ancient history you'll understand that America is Israel Palestine Babylon and all these places that castle was probably built by a Babylonian what I say sounds ridiculous but only if you seriously look into this when you see the truth
