HUGE Lightning Bolt - it was LOUD!

On May 17, 2022, myself and my two friends were recording lightning in Kansas when this HUGE positive (+) Lightning Bolt landed right in front of our eight cameras. When the thunder did arrive, it sounded like 10 supersonic jets flying directly overhead, and was by far the loudest lightning strike I have ever heard. After doing analysis, I have determined this bolt was approximately 1.54 miles away, CRAZY!

I love the "explosive" nature of positive strikes, their sound punches your guts just the right way! :P

It was a pretty epic bolt. The 4K 120 you can do with the A7sIII is crazy good.

Lightning struck .3 miles from my house and i was the coolest sound. It was like rolling sonic booms, like ba boom ba boom ba boom. But it didn't have any big echos just a bunch of sonic booms

You can never have too many cameras when chasing lightning, it just loves to land out of frame!

This is why I LOVE being in Florida this time of year. It has a lot of lightning, especially in the area from Tampa to Orlando, as the sea breezes from both sides of the coast collide, and therefore, create strong thunderstorms with lots of CTG lightning. When a thunderstorm begins to put an outflow boundary out, does that always mean it's dying?

So am I, as you can see by my username. I do not like fall/autumn, because many days are clear with no clouds. I hate that! October is my 2nd LEAST favorite month of the year.

The sound from HI amp positive lightning strikes is to loud in even bigger distances. This one i am happy to record two cams from one point and second point away 4 km from one. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hWh9msh7j6ephpM.html

Assalamualaikum If you Screenshot the image of the Positive Lightning bolt... Zoom in to the head / ground level of the Light. Reduce 75% of the Light in photo edit, and turn color 100% UP. You will see what looks like an Electric Eel eating a Demon Samurai
