Huge Hoarder House Tool Haul - Was It Worth $380?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I went to this house planning on spending $25 but ended up driving away with my truck full. There's a lot to unpack here with old, new, USA, Foreign, antique, rare and wild. Let's get busy!

You've done very well. The Dremel plus accessories, the bench grinder, the B&D drill, and press drill would cover your spend. The rest is icing on the cake!

Thanks! I gave the drill press to my friend Tyrone who I work with a lot. He wanted it for his tool trailer which he brings to job sites. The B&D drill will be donated to a kid looking to work with his hands. I'm keeping the Dremel. :)

Nice to see you're sharing those tools around. And the Dremel, not something you tend to use on a regular basis, but so great to have when you need one, for those fiddly jobs. Good move!

My parents both grew up during the Great Depression and both accused each other of being hoarders. The funny thing is that they both used the same denial; "It's not hoarding if you are going to use it SOMEDAY".

Estate sales on the last day of the sale are usually 50% off. I went to one on Sunday at the last hour and got a 1950's Snap On top and bottom box for $50. It's beat up but a solid resto project. i also got two bins full or power and hand tools. The deals are out there but it takes time to find them.

@@m.t.v.7934 there is a good website to locate estate sales near you. estatesales.net is the address. Just enter your zip code and the radius and they'll show up. That's where I usually see them. Also, on Facebook Marketplace just search "toolbox" and see if any come with tools. There's two good deals loaded with tools in the Tampa area right now but I need to pace myself. :)

The bigger air pressure checkers are normally for HD, ( heavy duty ) trucks that have more pressure in their tires. I've always had the small ones that go to 60 pounds, but when I bought our 3/4 ton truck, the tires are set to 80 psi, so I had to buy a bigger one of them.

I donate most of it out although on occasion i trade things for help or materials. I say, "most" because although I haven't sold any of it yet, there will likely come a day when i may sell off some things. I like to help people learn to work with their hands and whenever I can, I supply tools to anyone who needs them but can't afford them. Sometimes subscribers on here have requested specific items they need and I just send them off. biggest was a Vermont American Tap and Die set. I didn't mind giving it away but the shipping cost was extreme. :)
