We got to work on a 110. While not as big as a 149, but was more rare.
It ain't Friday Night without O2S!!!!!
I'm glad I found this channel all that time ago. Detroits happen to be my favorite diesel engines. great work on the videos by the by
I want to throw Capt. Walnut's stick while you work. Lol
You gotta love the sound of a Detroit unless you are deaf. That engine is impressive. Thanks for the video.

AMEN for sure , the most wonderful sound there is ,,nothing like the sound of a 12V92 with twin turbos climbing a 12 percent grade pulling 50 tons
It's a good day when you can sit back and listen to a buzzin' dozen. Your dogs know when your getting stressed out. They are like, "Stop that and play with us. We'll cheer you up."
When I went to UTI in Phoenix in the 90’s we got to tune an old 16V96. Fun setting all those injectors😂😂
Wayne, my man, you need one of these plastic folding tables when carrying out experiments like that. Trust me, it's a game changer. Beats working on the ground any days lol!
Breakfast beer and 2 stroke detroits is the best way to start your day. Fun stuff Wayne. Saturday morning ol 2 stroker videos?? Nothing better. Happy earth day. How dare you!!!! F em
Thanks for your time and effort Wayne and family
Great video Wayne. Awesome hearing the Ole girl fire on all!
Love the sound of those ole 2 strokers.
We all love you as long as you don't drink Budweiser😡
Wow the VT plate caught my eye. I lived in Bennington and worked as a mechanic for REA Express in Albany in 1964 until 1970 when I went with M&G Convoy in Selkirk. Yeah, I'm older than dirt.
Cannot wait to see what you do with this one Wayne.
Good stuff as always Wayne. You're videos make me laugh and think of my younger days. Till next time, have a great day!
The reaction after you fired it up was priceless Wayne!!!
Sounds like it’s got potential thanks for sharing
I watch ole2stroker with Wayne a lot and man do I really appreciate how authentic he is keep it real my man and find some shit around the yard to give away😅
Thumbs up earned because of Jimmy!
Great video Wayne sounds pretty good after you unstuck the injectors . Looking forward to your next video stay safe Wayne.
Great video Wayne, I always look forward to your videos especially the fact that I’m a Detroit fanatic as well 🇦🇺
i was happy to see our favorite keeper of the cool detroit engines got another big motor get to come out of it slumber and sound really good after wayne's hard work
Please keep doing what you're doing bro.
Excellent / humble / informative video.
What a treat Wayne, great video? Dare I say, that motor would be freakin mint in the race truck, just saying!!!👌🍻
Love all your content bud! Keep up the hard work and mesmerizing knowledge of so called junk😂🤙
Good day Wayne, a brilliant bit of work to get it going. Doesn’t seem in too bad a shape either. Hope you can do something with it.🇦🇺
Would be funny to take this to a show and have it power a small ice cream churner. Greta would love that.
what a beautiful sound!
Gotta love a V12, great to see you got the old girl figured out, she's no spring chicken but she can still sing a pretty tune HA!!!
Sweeeet have a good weekend Wayne. Stay safe sir!
Peg would be proud of you
Good morning Wayne. Like Yosemite Sam! Pounding the dynamite into the hole to get roadrunner or oil! But! You gotta put a biscuit in the hole before breakfast beer. 😆
What a glorious machine! Imagine stuffing that in a truck
Wayne brother yer back!!! Alright the almighty 12V92 ,NICE !!! DDEC TOO
That thing sounds pretty healthy.
It’s running good sounds like a tight Detroit
I’m a big Fan of Detroits also! Each time I watch your awesome videos I learn more about them. Made me laugh my ass off with Mr. Walnut aka Jimmy 😂. Keep the vids comin!
Wayne, that was super interesting! 👍
That's a freaking beast 💪
I think it's cute you thought 2 batteries would start it. Good video keep em coming I like seeing the ddec since I've never seen them before.

Me too…have you seen the 8V92 DDEC on another guys YT Channel its actually in the truck running going on a test drive….sweeeet…look for it if you haven’t seen it
1Enjoy Your channel Wayne. After getting My start in trucking with a worn IH loadstar1800V8 gasser that I lost off a bridge into a river. I found a loadstar the same wheel base with a 6V53. My first 2 stroker! I loved it. It was a little money marker. Working out of town I found a pair of 1800s just like the one I had. Take Your pick the Guy said. Started My over the road trucking with a manual Cat that was alright until I was introduced to a 60 series Detroit! It blew the Cat out out of the water on fuel mileage. I was ok with a little less torque.
"unburdened by genius" ; Wayne, working on junk 2023🤣😂
Now you need to build a truck around that engine! 😅 Can anyone say "HEAVY HAUL!" 🤣
Drop that beast in the 352 rails be a sweet truck there Wayne
Something about those old Detroit engines the high rpm just love how they sound I can listen to over and over! I got ear worm fellas! Thanks Wayne for bringing her back from the dead and hooked up on your channel!

For a simple man like me this is amazing.
❤❤ I love your videos awesome con tent
For Earth Day i fueled the ol Toyota up with 5W40 oil (5L and 52L of diesel) drove 350 miles to buy some coal go back home.. spritz some WD40 into wood light up the barrel with that WD40 wood.. threw them coals in there and burned all the cardboard junk i piled up for months. All in all it was a Smokey day... The Toyota smoked like crazy the fire did the same and it was fun. Buuut not as fun as a Detroit Diesel. Great Engine and video Wayne! Greetz from The Netherlands, Bjorn
That’s a dream engine. I hope you put that in a frame and use it. I always wanted to put a 12V92 in a mid-1920s Lincoln. Or better yet mid mount it in a school bus.

Greta would object to that application, as she would not object to the repair of the engine or to most of his activities as he seems to believe, with the exception of the race truck. But an engine that large needs a large application, at least 18 wheels if not more, or bulldozer, large tractor, marine or railroad, hopefully with less idling than the previous owner, which is not his fault. Even with the race truck, one might ask, how many people like me don't bother building a race truck because they can watch one on KZread instead? and does that make a KZread race truck green? Greta likes buses and many buses are 2 stroke, though I see no such buses here. It is mostly buses and RVs that bring my interest; and the moving vans that can help us all move among politically allied neighbors. Anyway, he is greener than he thinks.
Love your videos, bud.
Great video
Walnut and the stick [priceless] lol Great stuff!
Best earth day Ive seen so far \m/
Hey Wayne’O bud first off she sounds minty af and second thanks for another great vidya wouldn’t be a Friday without a O2S vid. But on a serious note an believed you me I’m not a Detroit mechanic atall but the shop I work at works on Detroit and if I’m not mistaken the split block DDEC’s run on the back block of cylinder under a certain RPM and load percentage then bring in the other block once she meets that threshold. I round about 87.2 repeating % sure about that I know 100% that’s true for 16v92 DDEC’s but like I said not positive if that applies to all the split block DDEC’s. If that’s the case though then that’d explain why the fronter manifold is ice cold when you first start er up. Anyway thanks for givin a fella something to drink a beer too on his Friday evening. Stay minty buddeeh.
Great project Dylan M.

Still sounds like there's a cylinder or 2 down Wayne. On vid you can hear the chugging at the end when you rev it up. Have a listen. You probably can't hear it standing there but from one mechanic to another I can hear it.
Bro love the dogs and love the content.
She leapt to life like frogs in a dynamite pond 👍
Awesome mechanic/ electrician . I think you had all the codes in that harness of wires memorized in your head, enabling you to read codes , hook up all necessary to get it running in 28 minutes. Wondered why you were even thinking about messing around with the turbo's at the start, as removing exhaust manifolds are a good trouble shooting tool on these weird engines. I like your "stand up" throttle control, copied from old DIVCO milk delivery trucks. I learned about your gee-whiz electrical ability when you fixed the AC operation in our first gen Dodge 10 years ago . No job too big, or too small ! I love you, Wayne ! Lucky to call you a friend !.

Love Detroit diesel.
That will go great in James pretty cabover lol.
I seen a video on how 2 V6 Detroit become a V12 . Its cool how they couple them together to make 1 tree puller lol.
Now that's a engine 😁👍
Ha Wayne Damian from Australia when u bleed your fuel system do what I do use a 4 gallon container hold up high above engine and gravity bleed fuel system works every time mate fires 1st time 😊
Buzzun dozzen‼️✔️
Hi from France, i worked for a in Australia who only ran 6V92's in Kenworth's. I love your chanel, but unfortunatly i'm not a big Detriot Diesel fan,i drove them for years, big on oil consumption, not the most powerfull engine, but hey i've got an open mind, wouldn't mind driving it,might be interesting. Great chanel by the way.
I’m late to the comments but awsome video Wayne such a cool engine
12:21 "You have stolen my dreams and my childhood!" You're welcome, you histrionic slag puppet. 😁
Now you need a 12v92 street rod!
It is good to see a new video, Wayne. When you gonna do another one on Bertha (Pete 352)? By the way, I completely forgot about Earth Day. It's not the sort of day I normally celebrate, although a couple of times I did turn on every TV and every light and in and on my house to celebrate Earth Day. I might have run the HVAC system with all the windows open too. 😄
Was taught by an old mechanic, never spray starting fluid until motor is rotating , had some guys blow headgaskets off 88 , 425 cats many times but they would not listen.
Great Video, Wayne. Now what can you shove that wonderful beast in that has wheels?? Look forward to seeing you guys at Onaway. Thanks.
Fun fact, the EMD 16 cylinder engines use the same DDEC ECM's.
15K hrs? Why, that 'ol girl' is 'prime'. I've heard tell of 30K hrs on vegetable oil. Don't know particulars of maintenance and # of rebuilds, but... Late 70s My Dad had a 2-71 came out of an Allis crawler from a junkyard had 13k hours ... Clock was broke tho ... He smirked when listening to local farmer brag his JD had 7K hrs ... Another instance, a friend of my dad's talked a man into getting rid of his propane MM powered irrigation pump for a Detroit powered set up. It was easier on fuel and wasn't prone to cracked heads and valve issues ... $$$ We lived about a quarter mile from the river, could hear that Detroit, summer after summer singing it's song😊
Did a sweet burn out for ol’ Greta 😂
Awesome!!
Excited to see what you do with the old blister. Gotta say though old Wayne-o, left me a bit blue balled, I come here for the noise and not letting the old sweat hog sing at 2150 for a bit made me sad enough to journal about it. Let her eat for a bit, she’ll love it. Just like the race truck, I wanna hear that thing scream with all the rpm’s. Keep up the good work man

Hi wayne yeah more junk running no you need a big hood truck to put it in . Cheers mate🇦🇺
2 Smokes may not make as much power as the newer four strokes but they still sound way better. 🤘

@@hilleryclifford1350 The 16V genset I saw in the video library is a 16V149. So I understand that was what you were referring to.
Nice!
that is one smokey old diesel
Be careful using LEDs in Check Engine Light sockets, as at least some older ECUs will react unfavorably. How about that engine in the Louisville??
As for environmental scolding, Salvaging old stuff is green, and it's not your fault if the previous owner did a bit too much idling. I once shut down the truck on a sub zero Montreal night and was snug as a bug in my winter sleeping bag but needed a jump start in the morning. Still not sure if I should have idled that night.
Here's a ghetto trick from a field mechanic who works in the middle of nowhere: if both your 12v batteries are fucked and wont take a charge you can hook one truck up to each battery with jumper cables. That'll get you started and the alternator will do the rest once started. Obviously not a permanent solution but will get the machine running until more batteries can be had
Awesome, didn't take too much to get her running. So what's your plan for it?
WOW didn’t know a buzzin duzzin is electronic
You drink your beer of choice brother I don't care I just like the videos
W D 40 As a starting fluid
I can’t get beyond the old CAT yellow paint
Thank you for the video Wayne👍 I'm guessing the dog's Jimmy was trying to rimind you about the movie Lethal weapon when it came to wires, and Jacob the black Lab/retriever was drinking Bud light especially trying to make out with Jimmy. 😬

@@Ol2Stroker Ignore those Taliban before they follow their fellows and call you metrosexual for shaving, and having friends who work in Northampton MA., where InBev will become more available. You shave more than I do, though I'll grab the pink Crocs at Goodwill if they're out of blue ones. BTW Greta has never criticized repair and reuse that I know of, and many buses use 2 strokes. She didn't write Cash for Clunkers. This big engine might be perfectly green if it served many people, or does in the future, or sees few hours in a collection, or teaches many how to repair and reuse stuff, fix old buses and carpool etc. Don't megatrucks haul windmills? Turnpike doubles near you? over the Birkshires? to Northampton?

good ol dddl 6 lol
Needs two big turbos mounted on the goofy manifolds, and some big injectors. 😎 Those things are cool, but they way so much more than an 8V92. They just don't make enough more HP.
hey Wayne. Don't suppose that Detroit would fit in a Prius. Huhhh? 😂
